I'm a real drag racer noob, so don't make jokes about it. I've been drag racing since few days ago and started to mess with setups. So, could you give me some tips about this? I've been looking at some drag racing setups of people around this forum and I'm confused about this:
1 - Rear wing or no rear wing?
2 - Camber or no camber at all?
3 - Front suspension height to min and rear to max? Or, both to min?
4 - LSD 60/60/5? Why?
5 - Anti Roll bars, compression and extension what they would affect the drag?

Thanks anyway, and excuse me if my english is bad.

1 - Rear wing or no rear wing? - most the time, no, but they do help on short tracks
2 - Camber or no camber at all? - no camber on the axle spinning the wheels, more tire contact patch
3 - Front suspension height to min and rear to max? Or, both to min? - usually front down rear up will give you better traction
4 - LSD 60/60/5? Why? - the middle number at 60 is probably the most important
5 - Anti Roll bars, compression and extension what they would affect the drag? - usually want the rear to compress easier to absorb the weight transfer, rear compression number to be low

Most these setting you just have to test and tune, trial and error and see what works best. Running fast people will also help so you know if you made improvements or not.

Answers:

  1. Track? Car?
  2. Normally no camber for the driven wheels
  3. Usually the first, especially when dragging on Indy
  4. Initial.....some say this, others that; Accel 60 for max. lock, because when a wheel loses grip, as example through losing contact to the tarmac, it would just spin in the air and the whole power would be lost over it, instead of being used for forward movement.
  5. Car holds the line better with strong bars; less sideways movement. Dampers go hand in hand with Springs and weight. Not in the mood to explain it now, but why don't you just check my tuning bible or other guides?

@dr_slump and ripcurl
thanks to both, I'm enlightened now and going to test some of those techniques.
I only drag at SSR7.
I will check out your bible dr_slump... Didn't know about it.

in ssr7 almost every car will not need a wing, there are some exceptions where a wing might help(speed 12 and sometimes mclaren f1)

with these tips I managed to tune a SL600 and I won almost every drag @La Sarthe against a bunch of Enzos and even one Veyron (stock probably). GTR's didn't have the chance once, but probably they were all noobs too :P
