Live, always. We have a fake one, but I don't remember ever using it...

Also, we usually get live ones in the pot, so they get planted afterwards. :) At least 5 of our previous years' Christmas trees are still alive.

Fake - and it mostly goes up for the entertainment of the cats anyway. Little bastards.

when we used to live in the country we used to umm.. borrow little pine trees from the forestry. But now we live in the city we just get a fake tree. It looks nice though

We usually have both. We have a big fake one for the living room, the wife has too valuable stuff in there for a real tree to shed on. The real one is in the family room. The boys love the real ones better, I like them both and my wife hates the real ones. She thinks they're too messy.

I wish we wouldn't celebrate Christmass....

Obviously, I grew up with the notion of no Christmas Tree in our house, but since I'd been with Kathy, we've had a real tree every year, no matter how big or small.

The first year, in '98, I got a real tree for my apartment. It wasn't easy getting a small tree (about 5 feet high), beleive it or not! But the smell of a real tree is a glorious odor I can live with. Sometimes they're messy, they require gallons of water, are difficult to manuver through a car and a house door, or they even have bugs...but we put up with it.

Kathy gets a bigger kick out of it than I do, I just like to take my glasses off and stare at the blur of lights on the tree and fall asleep in the evenings. Her trouble is getting rid of the tree, she's not good about getting it out of the house until a week after the New Year. I tell her it's out of the house by January 2nd...

Damn.. I was hoping that this thread was about boobs :(

Every year my son and I go out to one of those cut yourself tree farms. We pick out the perfect tree and cut it down and haul it home. I think we both enjoy doing it together. We also buy one that we know is too tall so I can trim a lot of the branches off the bottom and make a wreath for over the fireplace. So I'll keep getting real ones till my son get's tired of going out and picking them out with me or till he moves out.

I have a real one. But my dorm is really small, so its just a little tree....not even a 'christmas' tree really, more like the one in charlie brown christmas.

My tree is fake but it looks real. I even put little air fresheners on it so it smells real.

Fake, easier to handle by far.

Bahahaha!

This thread has brought me countless laughs by taking the posts completely out of context.

They even make those fake trees that already have the lights on them. My family generally uses those. Theyre really lazy.

We go out and cut down a real one a couple weeks before Christmas. Haven't done it yet this year., but I've been told that I get to pick this one. About time.
This is going to be the biggest Christmas tree that this house has ever seen inside.
