looking for Clean Drivers, who enjoy driving LOGICAL, REALISTIC "conservatively tuned" cars. abiding by FIA rules where applicable rally (~340 hp MAX, ~1250kg), super GT (~600hp, ~1100kg) etc... I enjoy driving everything (Permium) from stock honda civic, to F1, tunes modeled after real cars, many of which can be found here. looking for good, fast, clean drivers.

PSN: SteelyDave06

Room: Gran Turismo

Tires: Unrestricted (USUALLY Sport Soft for street cars, Racing Hard for race cars)

Tires & Fuel: *on

Grip Reduction: Real

Damage: **Heavy

Penalty: ***off

Boost: off

Grid: False start check

Aids: all off (ABS 1)

Track: vote (try to keep wide variety)

Laps: ~5 (USUALLY try and vote by word of mouth/chat)

Performance Points: Vote by word of mouth/chat and limit will be average of votes.

* Tire wear will be switched off if cruzing/drifting/"Cat and mouse" racing/playing around

**Heavy damage insures cleaner racing, rally races usually reduced to light damage. I am not a stickler to the Damage, just want good, clean, realistic racing & driving and am willing to switch off if racing remains clean and realistic. Damaged cars are to stay OFF the raceline and/or do EVERYTHING in their power to stay out of the way of other drivers and allow them to pass, pit and repair, or simply park OFF of the track until the conclusion of the race, or in rair cases (LONG races) quit, return to lobby, and watch the remainder of the race.

*** Not a fan of the penaltys in the game, just like racing in real life, if you gain position from an event where you cut a corner or came off the track, give the position back and continue racing. that being said, if a fellow player in the lobby brings to my attention that another driver is "CHEATING" first occurance be a verbal warning (FROM ANYONE IN THE ROOM!) and if the cheater continues to "CHEAT!" they will be booted

The ONLY reason why the rules are held so uptight is because of the current situation with online racing as im sure you are all aware. this will HOPEFULLY weed out all the GAMERS and then we (SIM RACERS) can truely enjoy all the glory and racing enjoyment GT5 was mainly desinged for.

I play with a logitech G27 wheel, I use the Clutch and H-frame (Left and/or Right handed) whichever is realistic to the car, interior view, map off, and occasionaly hide the game "gauges" (WRC Rally Cars with paddle shifters because G27 has no Ratchet shifter ability)

I hope some of you will join me, send me a friends request and/or keep an eye open for the "Gran Turismo" Lobby.

Dave

^^^ What's so real about that?

About as real as FIA setting a 600 HP limit to a racing series organized by JAF.

600 hp and 1100 kg is for FIA GT1 production super cars racing. rally rules are correct also and are just EXAMPLES for some people who have lost site of what is REALISTIC as is the reason for this lobby. 900 hp, 600+ pp racing, every single race, every car has every single top of the line part, racing soft tires, 200+ mph, no damage, no penalty, dirty racing, some people cant handle the power and are all over the track... thats the kind of crap i would prefer to minimize inside this lobby.

alvin23a, come by the lobby some time and check it out if your interested! i dont by any means think im the BEST, or the FASTEST. im just trying to play GT5 online without pretending its NEED FOR SPEED or some other crap racing game. 👍 besides any DSM  fan is ALWAYS welcome! (dsmtuners/AF/ECMlink s/n: black99gst)

everyone else: don't hate on my lobby, i don't hate on yours, and ied prefer if you don't hate on mine. as the first post CLEARLY states, if you join the lobby, you can VOTE for whatever you want! so if the winning votes prefer to drift for 10-15 mins, and their are 10-12 people in the lobby, why is tuning off damage and tire wear soo bad? MAJORITY of people drifting in the game would prefer damage be off, as well as tire wear... its as simple as that. if you don't want to join, don't! the only reason the lobby exists is to promote more realistic RACING, if majority votes want to drift, cruse the ring, take a break or whatever... why is that so wrong? stop by the lobby some time for a race or two before posting Negative comments... 👎 atleast then you will have some idea about what it is your posting about prior to doing so. its just my opinion, but im not too keen on prejudgment... i prefer to give benefit of the doubt, especially if i am to publicly voice my opinion, at least then i myself tried it, saw first hand what it was like, and can voice my opinion for EXPERIENCE rather than a falsified inexperience...

last night was some GREAT racing in the lobby! only had to kick 1 driver after being warned SEVERAL times about cutting the chicane at Monza. other than that, had TONS of positive feedback from participants ACTUALLY participating in the lobby. One gentlemen proceeded to fill the room with profanity prior to leaving due to the driving line being disabled, other than that, everyone enjoyed some good, clean, realistic racing! the track votes worked well, had a great variety, from london, to monza, laguna seca, Special Stage 5, to Snow Rally, and back! had zero track repeats, and was GREAT FUN!

My only complaint is that for the majority of the night, the pp votes hovered around 500-550, and MANY people continued to drive the same car race after race with just minor tweaks. but hey, to each their own! because i drive mainly replica tuned cars, i was often down a few points from the limit, and the performance handicap was obvious on the track. but ill take a 3ed or 4th place finish (even last happily) over any of the Unrealistic, ramming, dirty and just plain crap racing that takes place in the MAJORITY of online lobbys these days! all in all, im SUPER glad its working, stoked people like the lobby (after giving it a chance) and cant wait for some more Racing Action!

Hope to see some more of you stop by the lobby and see you on the track! Happy Boosting!
~Dave

p.s. I am a full time Mechanical Engineering Student (yes, i know its summer, but im still taking classes and doing research for my grad credit), so my schedule isn't very regular, if you are interested in the lobby and would like to check it out for your first time, easiest way is to shoot a friend request, if i am playing GT5, the lobby will be open! and follow to the lobby. or simply keep an eye out for "gran turismo" hosted by me. my roommates (and i) also use my PS3 for Netflix often, so just because "steelydave" is online, does not mean "Dave" is online.

Are you still doing this? I love realistic racing, endurance racing is probably my thing at the moment, but 10-15 laps is still good. Because of my router settings I cant search for your room, so can I send you a friend request and join in that way?
