Just got a DFGT for Christmas and it's a pretty decent wheel. However, it is impossible to drift with, or even drive correctly. The feedback seems way to much, and you have to turn the wheel almost 360 degrees for just one turn, and I'm going a lot slower than before, and the car will still spin-out. I don't have any of these problems with my little brother's Christmas gift; A wireless Driving Force.
Can anybody tell me how I should tweak the settings?
Also, I have a problem with my, umm,a-hem, current cockpit: a lousy, fold-up TV dinner table that wobbles and moves all over the place every time I turn and allows little to no room for my feet to move around the pedals (yes I'm using only one foot :D)

New demo has quite major problems with FFB. Drifting is therefor very diffcult. There is nowhere similar drifting/driving feel that you get in LFS or iracing. There are also some quirks still physics but mostly you can get clean laps with practicing. Try also other games to make you familar with the wheel but there is no game on the market that feels like GT5:demo.

I would start with ingame FFB setting 2, and set it higher if you prefer. If FFB is too high, everything feels the same and there is no difference in effects; all feel strong. Proper setting is set up so that harder effects just hit the max force wheel can give. With that setting you have nice variety in effects and all of them are not hitting the limiters or max force wheel can give.

When you have the DFGT attached to a stable surface (table or wheel stand) you'll probably find that FFB of 5-6 is easy to handle. Attaching it to something which slides all over the place is just going to leave you hating it, sadly.

If you set power steering mode ON within the GT5TT or GT5P you can spin the DFGT quite fast when you need to (you feel the motor freewheel to let the wheel spin faster). But to do this you have to rotate the wheel firmly, and your stand clearly won't let you do that.

Thanks for the help guys.
I found a more stable table in my house, and my wheel is cooperating a lot better now. Still need to get used to drifting tough, I'm doing a lot worse than on the DualShock3

No worries mate. When I bought my first wheel I felt the same. You have to practice for a month to get use to it.
If you have a DIY person amongst your friends he can make a cockpit easily. The link below contains some cockpits and videos.

Some of my BTH_mates have made theirs based on this.

This is the USA home of gameracer.
