Really want to get back into GT5

YLOD killed me dead earlier this year. I was spoilt with the massive seasonal bonuses over christmas and I just can't bare having to chug all my way back up. Working dad with little time, what are my best options?

I want to be back somewhere near here Which I know isn't far but I was gutted when my PS3 died. I'm guessing that saves are still locked despite rumours that a patch would allow save sharing in the future? I also heard about a lost data option in the menus? Would this work from no save data at all?

Failing all that what about methods for blasting through to higher levels. I think I only had the endurance races left to do before my disaster. Is there a quick route that others take?
 
You can take your YLOD PS3 to a repair point for a reflow.
I did the same thing, and when I got it back none of my save games were deleted :)
Copied the save game, bought a slim line PS3, uploaded save game and picked up where I left.

*If you have your YLOD PS3 reflowed, take in mind that it will die eventually.
Could take weeks, could take months, could take years... no one knows*
 
I bought new and foolishly attempted to put the HDD in the new one. Won't make that mistake again in a hurry, then I back up regular now too so i'm safe either way.
 
EDIT: Ah, just read about the HDD swap. Did you wipe it clean after you swapped it?

Sorry to hear about that unfortunate incident my friend. Well, your best bet is to really hit the Seasonals. Those races even after the triple payouts are gone, are the best way to earn credits/exp fast and get to higher levels quickly.

If you want PM me and we can swap PSN IDs so I can put some cars up for you to borrow.:)

Updating GT5 now. Gig worth of 2.0 goodness for my return! SHould doften the blow a little.

Are the triple bonus's still active? I saw them go up in a patch and reading through I've not seen them taken off?
 
The triple payouts are gone, but every race you race (since 2.0) depending on the amount of consecutive days you login, can get you a max bonus of 200%. So any race (A-spec, B-spec, seasonals, doesn't matter) can now get you 2x the payouts for credits/exp which is better than nothing.

I'll add you tonight and just let me know which cars you would want me to share.
 
I had a YLOD and bought a new PS3. Luckily I had backed up my hard drive. When I dumped my backup into the new PS3 I kept all my game saves and profile Data. The only thing I had to do was reinstall the game again.
