Had I ordered my XJ L I would almost certainly not have had the XJ and L badges on it. But my car has them. After a month or so of ownership, I'm thinking of taking them off. They just seem a little slapped on to me.

So, with the aid of a little light Photoshop...

Badge On?

Or Badge Off?

I'm thinking "badge off". Place your votes please...

I think it looks better with the badges off. I'm not normally a fan of it, but the XJ has a very simple, swoopy style to it, and keeping the rear as simple as possible suits the car.

I'm not normally a fan of debadging cars but in this case it definitely helps clean up the tail a bit; the XJ L badge looks very tacked-on.

Removing the leaper on the other hand... Well...

As long as the brand logo remains but the XJL part goes - it looks much better.

I think model deletion of cars (not brand/logo) looks cleaner and makes most cars better.

So it's a yes (badge OFF) from me.

Off.

I debadged my 406 Coupe and it looked so much better without them.

Also off. Everyone knows it's a Jaaaaaaaag, but they don't really need to know which model of Jaaaaaaaag it is.

I'm pretty sure everyone can tell that's an XJ, compared to other Jaguar models. :P

Get it off. Luxury cars look tacky with the model badges kept on IMO.

Remove the two badges on the back, will make the rear end look a million times better for only an hours work!

Thanks guys.

I'd never take the leaper off, and anyway a member over at Jaguar Forums tells me it's secured to the bootlid by some means that involves there being holes in the lid skin.

I'd remove my badges too, if it wasn't for the IS220d badge leaving holes once removed - too much hassle for me. :(
If it was secured the other way they wouldn't be there as of now! :P

Off.
I removed everything from my car but the sti so I'm biased but love a clean rearend.

That's the reason I never de-badged the RX8. 2 of the 3 badges on the back are located by pins.

Guess I'm the only ones who prefers it on the car :S

I like cars better if they are like they were when they left the factory.

Personally I think it looks better on...that's just me.

I prefer them on. It adds a touch of asymmetry that I like. De-badging to me is like trying to hide something you're ashamed of... obviously I realise this isn't what you're doing!

I may be biased though, quite some time ago I used to run the machine that cut the double sided tape that Jag stick their badges on with!

I generally am not a fan of badge deletes, but it looks out of place on there. And it won't be like when I see an E36 with a delete and just assume he is hiding the shame of owning a 318i

I don't think anyone removes the badge to hide something (well, I guess some do). In most cases it's a way to "style" the car. The car looks cleaner without badges imo.
I used to own a BMW 325i (E46), and I removed the badge for cosmetic reasons only. It was'nt like I was a shame of the car I drove.

Voted: OFF
If that was'nt obvious..
Nice car btw! 👍

I would if i bought a Ford

Definitely looks better badges off. Those letters look ike an afterthought. That rear deserves a nice, looooong

J A G U A R
on the back.

IDK. With the badges off it feels like it's missing something.

The badge breaks up the very clean look of the rear styling, I definitely would say take it off.

oh wow, XJL is an actual badge, thought it was just like 'in your opinion do you like xyz badge on or off' mostly, on, but in this case *rechecks* yeah off, its not a great badge, and its on the left side, what's with that? Shouldn't 'Jaguar' be on the left side, and the model name be on the right side?

The only car I think is good to remove the badge from, is some of the modern German cars who've lost their engineering driven nomenclature for a more stupidly designed marketing driven one, eg. a BMW 528, which doesn't have a 2.8 litre engine, that's just ****ed up, even AMG with their '6.3' and things to denote the top model car, none of them from the last 2 generations (mostly I think there might be one exception) actually have a 6.3 litre engine, they have a 6.2, which is also equally ridiculuous, almost worse to imply the engine is larger than it actually is, as opposed to just silly to say its smaller.
