Rear Speaker Mounting on Seat

I'm looking at fabricating something similar to this for my surround speakers. As I run a D-Box motion cockpit they currently are on a stand behind the frame but when I move my seat inwards for Oval racing for example the calibration of the rear speakers means I can't hear them as well as when my seat is back.

I'd like to make something like the below although not as flashy and my question is, can I screw straight into that location between the harness holes or do I need to do a nut and bolt - a flat head nut going in from the headrest side and the nut on the outside to tighten.. make sense?

I've made a temporary timber stand but as you can see when the chair is brought in the distance to the rear speaker increases losing the 'calibrated' surround sound.

I definitely think that you would want pressure from both sides. ie. nut and bolt scenario. If access to the front side is an issue you could look at Gyprock type fasteners. There should be all manner of different types these days. You could just find what would be the least intrusive where it matters (the front). That way you would be going straight through the back only, but it would lock on from both sides. They will fit through a small hole and have a mechanism to spread on the other side. Hope that makes sense. Even better if it's helpful.

Thanks for the responses.. I also had email communication from Robert Stanners of VRX Simulators (first pic) and he was really helpful with how they mount theirs.

So I've removed the plastic surround where the harness goes through, will be feeding a plate with 4 holes between the foam and the seat and another plate on the outside (rear) which will have the speaker mount and have it bolted together.
