reason for a spec points?

Can anyone tell me what the point of getting A-Spec points is?
I Know that b-spec points increase the "skill" of the AI driver, but what do A-Spec points do? Why get so many?

(P.S. Sorry if i havnt seen this posted already, as i cannot find it)

To brag. It's a high score, that's all.
And it has been posted a lot of times.

Why should you gather as many A-spec points as you can? Because they're there!

One other way at looking at it is that if you got 750 A-spec points avter 750 different wins you should ask yourself: "Is it fun winning each race with 1-20 laps?"

The real reason for A-spec points is offcourse that you'll be invited to PD by the maker himself as as honorary guest and offered a job as a PD-GT5 test driver when you reach the magic max possible A-spec score :)

Actually I have. What I got - That's it. You cannot get anymore (well alright, you can in theory, but the game won't let you pick up the last few thousand). I'm at the limit.
Sooooo....giz a job PD!
 
Are you sure there are no sub 200-races you can drive the car till the oil is black as tar, to gain a few more points? Especially for the manufacturers races where you have to buy a new car? Maybe one or two races you didn't use a lesser tire even though the race was sub-200?

Nope. Done and done. All manufacturer races on N1 and 200 ballast. (maybe there's 100 or so available for bad oil, but i'd need to do 3000 miles or so on each one - not going to happen)

booooooo.................So I have to drive (lets see quick maths...........20 Series x 3000 miles) 60000 miles just to get the last few hundred points. Thanks for bursting my ego bubble. :crazy:

Think about the regal reward when you reach that 107000!! :)

PS: Iv'e got a fed up of GT4 girfriend to......she won't even race me??? Figures...since I have to use the 1889 daimler or maybe the 2CV to loose against her driving any car.......

107000? pfffff......110000. Maybe all of them - just need someway to drive 60000 miles without boring myself to tears.

B-spec Bob.....I'd forgotten all about him. But if I let him drive then my pretty status screen will be all ruined. Nope, I'll do it myself...........Another month's work ahead!

Your status will be ruined, but there's a challenge in training the "supreme idiot driver" 0 points Bob into a 10000 point 100/100/100 skilled "Super Bob", although he won't be that super, only decent. besides everybody knows what you've done without B-specing, so as I see it, you've got nothing to loose by training Bob a little.

You could also copy your savegame (hope for God's sake you've done it already), and keep one pure with no B-specing, and one just for going for those worn out cars.

Hmmmmm...........done some more calculations and it looks like there are only 8 series where I could get any more points from bad oil. 8 series is 8 x 3000ish 24000 miles, which isn't so bad. I'll take it on, but it's only going to get me 1000 points extra at best, I was right, the maximum is impossible. I'll take it on, should only take a week or so.

EDIT: OMG I MISSED ONE!!!! I've only got 9 pts from the suzuki K-car cup. woohoo that's 600 more right there!
 
Are there any races where you can reduce your downforce to gain some extra points? Or NOS+reducing something you've forgotten?

Erm......no i don't think so. I've already got 200 for all the events with race cars.
And the maximum is still out of reach - can't get 200 for the Suzuki cup even with bad oil. Broke 107000 though..............hehe.

btw: my son, 6yo raced me on the ring today, me with a BMW M3 CSL, he with a Pescarolo P60 race car. He only won by 2s though.

lol :) good form.

I won't do my sig right now, I've got to go through every single race to see where those missing points are and which ones I can pick up before getting stuck into grinding down some engines ( I already found another 36 in Special Conditions)
I'll do my sig later.............back to work.
 
With so many races, there just had to be some more points to gain.

Btw: my 6yo son, made his national B licence on his own today (3 silver rest bronze), so for all of you struggling - It can be done :)
 
I tried racing with my F1 car, and the points were around 50 per race!
tho you with all the a spec points u can possibly get, im sure you have tried this.... :crazy:

Racing against what? If you mean F1 Vs F1 then yes you'll get 50-60 points a race. Against anything else, you'll get 1. And you can race LMP's against F1's and get 200pts a race (I used the Audi R8 and won every race)
