3/24/2006 - Reports are coming in of a new one-of-one Ferrari that is being custom built by Pininfarina that will make its debut this August at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Recalling the days of when coachbuilders created one-off designs for wealthy clients, Ferrari-owner Jim Glickenhaus commissioned Pininfarina to build him a modern interpretation of the Ferrari 330 P4 race car. Glickenhaus stated, “I'm simply a private person contracting with a coach builder to realize my dream. Pininfarina has done this in the past and they are reviving this aspect of their business.” He continued, “Pininfarina have not only helped me realize my dream they've made me dare to look forward and have come up with something that works on it's own.” Glickenhaus owns, among other Ferraris, the controversial s/n 0846 330 P4 that he restored from its crash in the late 1960’s.

The car will be built upon an existing U.S.-spec Ferrari Enzo and therefore uses the same chassis, engine, and transmission. The body, while having much smoother lines than the Enzo, will also be modern with Pininfarina doing numerous tests in a wind tunnel. Power output should remain the same, although the overall weight of the car will be less than the Enzo. The interior will receive extensive changes, including modern amenities like an MP3 player.
