Hello, long time reader but slowass poster dares to open a new thread. And yes, did a search and have stickies memorized completely. :)

I'm currently at 39% and I'm a average driver. However I like my races to be close and somewhat hard. I'm a good driver with slow/production/touring cars but I have some trouble with faster cars. Before starting to race LMP cars, I propably should practice a little with JGTC cars? They are little slower, aren't they?

On Pal version there is only one JGTC -price car (NISSAN MOTUL PITWORK Z (JGTC) '04) am I right? It can be won at Japanese GT Championship, which is just the race I want to do with a JGTC car, so thats out of the question.

There is a JGTC car on Superlicense test 8, (Honda Takata Dome NSX (JGTC) `03) which I found out to be a pain in the ass to drive. don't know why but this car does not love her brakes at all... many times I just lightly tapped the brakes, and boom, car sideways. Dont get me wrong, I drive with a wheel, and like a car that can hold a nice little drift, but this car seemed to be imbossible to drive fast.

Since the user interface of GT4 is so "friendly" it's hard just to find out what JGTC -cars there are availeble, so I'm asking you all. Which is your favorite? Which one is easy to drive? Which one is fast and competetive.

BTW, what does JGTC mean?

The fastest is probably the red '03 Skyline, the Xanavi Nismo one. My personal favourite is the Toyota Woodone Supra, I like the smooth delivery of power as it's not a turbo car. I completely agree about the NSX, it's hard to drive, but when you can master it it will be very fast.

It really doesn't matter which one you choose, they are quite similar in performance. If you can't decide, take the one that has the nicest looks. :)

JGTC = Japanese Grand Touring Championship

And keeps the flag of the Flying Finns flowing! 👍

The Woodone Supra is highly recommended in this case. The Motul Pitwork Z is the best one, but second is the Supra, and possibly the Xanavi Nismo GT-R. JGTC stands for Japanese Grand Touring Championship, and does not exist any more. As of last year it is known as SuperGT. http://supergt.net/en/

I forgot to look for Supras alltogether, so these replies are allready usefull. Will propably go with the Supra...

Just finished the Subaru 360 race with a fourth try, dammit they are fast :D ...and now starting the Japan GT. Quite a jump at speeds, eh? :)

i should recommend

- Honda Takata Dome NSX
- Nissan Xanavi Nismo
- Nissan Motul Pitwork 350Z

Hey there, the 350Z motul is a great car, mission 25 uses that car I think, have a go, I think it is very balanced, the supra's are also a great choice, the ASL car isn't so bad either.

It sounds like you should try the JGTC 300HP cars 1st:

1.Toyota Wedsport Celica
2.Mazda Aspradrink RX7 (RE Amemiya) - Tuner Hall
3.ASL Arta Garaiya
4.Subaru Cusco Impreza
5.Toyota MR-S
6.Nissan C-West Silvia

I've listed them in my order of preference.

He's already said he's good with cars on that level, touring car's have around 300bhp and he mentioned thoes. I think going stright into the GT500's is a good choice.

The Wedsport Celica is also one of my favorites - only a GT300 but handles very nicely.

I have found that most MR cars need to brake in a straight line otherwise they will develop uncontrolable oversteer - but that is something you have to come to terms with if you want to drive LMPs.

Try the Suzuki concept GSR 4 mid engine car,you win it from Suzuki Concepts race.
Mod it up to about 250 hp, add a wing and some race rubber and you should get 10 close races in the JGTC championship.

In my opinion, you shouldn't even use a GT500(500hp JGTC machine) car in the JGTC championship. I say this because for some reason the AI is incredibly slow, and you will find this series too easy in a JGTC machine(less than 10 a-spec points in the Xanavi Nismo GT-R '03!)

Mazda Aspradrink RX7 (RE Amemiya) gets my vote. Best looking IMO, and easiest to control.
Plus, when your done the series, you can use it too drift :)

The Pitwork Z is a good deal faster than the WoodOne Supra when a hilly track is involved, because of the huge torque advantage. I can't say I've tried the Nismo GT-R that preceeded it. My experience rests on these two in Arcade Mode, Manual transmission on Super-softs, with no power/weight adjustments. I found the Z to be around a second quicker on Laguna Seca, but that difference could diminish on a track that's flatter.

Why not try the ESSO Ultraflo Supra?

Coolest looking of them all, IMO, especially it`s ass :D

But, it`s ure money and your choice 👍
It's not in every version of the game.

Now this was a great suggestion. Just finished those suzuki competitions and the GSR 4 seems to be a great car for me. To me, a good racecar, is all about brakes, brakes and brakes. (= I' am a late braker, so cars with good brakes keep me on track... ...maybe when I get better, other cars start to give me a boner, but not yet)

I also like cars that "forgive a little" at high speed corners with early apex (like the fastest corner at suzuka, just before the s- chicane leading to starting line) These kind of corners are a pain in the ass to master.

Took the GSR4 for a little spin at Tsukuba, and after only 5-6 laps found out that it is quicker than my Touring cars. These are "virgin times" so I didn't drive anymore than 10 laps either.

Suzuki GSX-R4 2001 0:54:3
Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 T1 1993 0:55:4

Before starting a Championship, I propably will test some more. Just to see if I get constant 0:52 to 0:55 laptimes with the GSR4. Not today thou, it's friday and the beer is getting to me.. :) Anybody want to set me a pace time for the GSR4 at Tsukuba?

Edit:After 10 more laps, with a slight beer buzz, best time for me is now 0:53:4 at Tsukuba with 275 Horse's

The Super GT (JGTC) ASL Garaiya is a great car. You can easily beat all GT500 Super GT (JGTC) cars with a HP upgrade to 440hp. I've done it with a stock ASL Garaiya Super GT race car, so it can be done. Plus, you can always reduce the HP to race with the other GT300 Super GT race cars.

I did the Grand Valley enduro with a stock Wedssport Celica, for a nice 200 a- specs. No sweat whatsoever!

Arta NSX... Mobil NSX... RE Amemiya RX-7... Spoon S2000 race car... Falken Skyline... :dopey:

if i had to pick one 300 and one 500, though...? Arta NSX and RE Amemiya RX-7... 👍

Dominatetheroad is talking about the Cuzco Subaru Impreza. And I guess its a good GT300 car. I really don't know.

I would buy a JGTC car based on its engine noise. In one of the GT4 replay demos, I heard the noise of a couple of the nissan skylines (a Hiroto GT-R and a Zexel GT-R). They sounded very good. Also the '00 Castrol Tom's Supra has an awesome engine noise.

No, the Woodone is indeed V8 powered. :) It's also the only JGTC (SuperGT? :yuck: ) I have much experience with, so I recommend that.👍

wtf?:dunce: its an inline six.. sorry :)
Not all race car's use the same engines and running gear as the road counterparts. Look at the Peugeot WRC car, theres no road going 307 with that engine or drivetrain, different race classes will vary in how much you can alter the car. The Woodone Supra has a V8 as stated above.

I think the best handling car is the NSX,especially the ARTA version.
the only real problem with this car is the setting;u need a lot of time to create it and without a good set up it can't perform well;and the other one is(only in the new Yellow Hat NSX 03')is the engine.

Other cars like Supra and GTR are really fast even if u don't set it well, but they destroy their tyres really fast...especially the GTR,just eat his front tires :ouch:
