Hi guys,

I have a racing rig with a swapped wheel and reverse mount pedals, and have GT5 and GT6. I want a ps3 racing game that is arcadey like Need for speed, Midnight Club, etc etc. with good gameplay to play for laughs and to relax because honestly racing/drifting in GT6 requires tough concentration.

I want to know, what are arcadey games that performs best with a wheel/g27? I am talking about good support for force feedback, 900 degrees steering, paddle shifters etc.

I no longer have the 6 buttons as I have swapped my wheel....so please share your experiences with arcadey games that don't need too many buttons to be pressed while driving :)

Please tell me your experiences with arcadey/semi-sim games that perform well with a wheel :)

Please state what wheel you base your experience on; or if you know for sure because it's a known fact :)

Thanks

ps also, don't say dirt3, because i don't like it

I know you don't like Dirt 3, but have you tried the previous games? They should both be pretty cheap nowadays and most driving game fans I know really enjoyed them.

You could also try:

Need for Speed: Shift, Shift 2: Unleashed and Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends.

Any NFS before Criterion took over but they aren't all that great, Test Drive Unlimited (not my favorite but it'll do the job)

GRID 2 is a pretty good arcade racer which I personally enjoyed with my G27. I've heard good things about GRID 1 as well although I've never played it.

Superstars V8 Next Challenge, surprisingly good little racer based on the Italian V8 series.

This is where Fanatec wheels begin to show some unique up-sides. The on-board adjustments can really help in taking a game from virtually unplayable to playable, or poor to good with the wheel.

Outrun requires very specific settings, but ends up quite fun. However, I feel like I remember reading that the license had lapsed and it's no longer on PSN. Same deal in both respects for GTi Club.

Daytona USA is a hoot. That said, I have to boost the spring setting on my wheel to kick ffb in to life. It's quite odd actually.

Ferrari Challenge is really dead in the ffb department, and I couldn't get any decent ffb no matter what I tried.

Personally, if I go arcade, I go all the way. I find it a real shame that arcade racers tend not to have good ffb. Perhaps if the term was not so commonly used as a pejorative in GTP and GTP-like worlds, developers would bother to implement properly.

Those three games are based on the same arcade fV8 eeling engine, but they are great. They have same amount of players who like it very much and hate it completely. So if there is number of 10.000 players who played it, then 5000 love it and 5000 hate it :) I'm in first group so i recommend.
  1. Need For Speed Shift
  2. Shift 2 Unleashed
  3. Test Drive Ferrari Racing Legends
Now lets move to some serious simulation based games.

  1. Ferrari Racing Legends / Ferrari Next Challenge
  2. Absolute Super Cars / Super Car Challenge
Those games are based on the same engine and made by the same company. The feeling of the wheel is really lazy and it is a specific feeling in those games. Worth check it out still.

  1. V8 Superstarts
  2. Superstars V8 Next Challenge
Those two games also are fun to play but with wheel ??? Well i don't know, especially first one is frustrating. Second is better.

I'm not going to debate about mine pick, I've played them all and i like it. At least check youtube and judge by yourself
