I was thinking of getting a wheel to replace my G27 that has been pretty flaky lately. (Using it as an excuse to upgrade )

There are 4 different upgrades I am thinking of:
Thrustmaster T500 RS
I would get this, then get the shifter and perfect pedal mod (if one is made)
ISR has given a good first-impression on it.
The mounting bracket looks simple, but sturdy.
Looks like a quality product.

Fanatec GT2 Clubsport
I have Forza 3 and I was also thinking of getting Forza 4.
Having a good wheel to use on the 360 would be nice, but it isn't my priority. GT5 and iRacing are.
Comes with the Shifter Set and Carbon Fiber Shift Paddles which the GT3 does NOT come with.
I want to know if $500 is worth it.

Fanatec GT3RS V2 Clubsport
Basically a GT2 lacking Xbox support?

G27 upgrade
Perfect Pedal mod to have a hydraulic brake pedal ($250)
Replacement potentiometers for Gas and Clutch ($ ???)
Custom mount to invert the 3 pedals ($ ???)
Would use the old brake pedal as a makeshift handbrake in PC racing sims 👍

I would like genuine opinions from owners of the devices in question or well-thought out recommendations.
Please do not post unless you own one of the products in question (Except for the last. I don't expect a lot of people to own that, so post on that if you want.).

Thank you for assisting me. :)

GT2 is an attractive option, thanks to the X360 support, but Fanatec has been having supply issues and there seem to be some service issues as well. I'm looking at one down the road, since the Clubsport Pedals are just killer and I have a feeling the shifter will be too, plus it's a pretty decent deal for the level of gear the Clubsport gear represents. They also do a great job making it look NOT like a controller, which I like.

Since you also have a X360 I don't think I'd go GT3RSv2 over the GT2 unless you wanted to save a few bucks, or you really like orange.

T500RS is too new for me... maybe down the road when they have the PC driver issues figured out, a shifter and all the little new product issues addressed, as well as a price drop, I'd be a little more willing to give it a chance. Early adopters seem pretty pleased so far.

G27 again... well, you'll have spare parts... you have experience with it... but it SUCKS to walk in the same footsteps unless you really liked your first one. There are some sick hop-ups for it, as you mentioned, and don't forget you can easily replace the wheel itself with the chilicoke mod. I think for the price the G27 is the king, best support, most features, and good reliability, but it's not "exciting" as the other wheels on the market.

Something you didn't mention, or might not know about is the newly announced Frex G-type, which is looking to be amazing, but will probably be expensive!

If I was in your shoes... what I'd do is order the GT2 wheel alone, and use it with my G27 pedals until the Clubsport shifter comes out, then I'd order a set of pedals and a shifter. Less outlay all at once, something else to look forward to, and multi-system compatibility.

If I get a job this summer, you can bet that I would save all of the money in a HEARTBEAT to get the new Frex G-type stuff.
$8/hr for 40 hrs / week for 4 months after taxes should be in the neighborhood of 4 grand. That should be enough for most of it :)

Hell yeah man. Go get it!

I guess I'm all set.

Now I have to think of something to waste. . . I mean use. . . the other $500 of stuff I could get for x-mas (of last year). Hmm.

I'm at a loss.

240 GB SSD anyone?

I'd be interested in buying a G27 though!💡

If you were going to buy it, I would have to either clean or replace the pots in the pedals.
I love the wheel, but am currently hating the pedals (namely the brake). I may just get a Perfect Pedal, simBOOT, another GPU for my PC, and use the left-over brake as a makeshift Handbrake. (I would either need to solder it to the circle button in the shifter or find a USB controller for it.)

Personnally i'd wait. Wait to see how the T500 performs over months, wait to see if Fanatec improves quality and customer service, and wait for the price of the upcoming Frex setup.

Meanwhile, maybe you should just install a Nixim mod ? Or put a 2nd spring in the brake pedal 👍
