Recording through soundcard

Hello!

I need a free program that directly records sound that goes through the soundcard from my computer; I found a demo version which is called ''Focus MP3 Recorder'' - unfortunately it only records 120 seconds.
I need the programm to cut out a dialog from a DVD movie to make a mod for a game.(only for personal use).

The first one helping me gets a cookie.

Not a hundred percent sure, but check out Goldwave. I think it has a "Record what you hear" option.
