Red Bull Seasonal Event Help

I spent almost 3 hours last night restarting the Monza event. I consider myself to be an above average racing simulation gamer but the intensity of the red bull car is kicking my ass.
I did get bronze by the end of the night. Due to watching numerous YouTube videos and diligent practice. I was counting downshifts on turns and whatnot.

I'm using the regular ps3 controller, with traction control on 5 and abs on 1.

Does anyone have any suggestions for completing the rest of this event?
I really want the red bull car

Level up to level 35 B Spec and you get it for free.

it's a SPECIAL event and not a seasonal

if you have issues, then slap on SRF, auto transmition and you should get bronze really easily with DS3 in very few attempts (getting gold is another thing entirely - i've only managed silver, but no way i will sit there for 3 hours to attempt this as I dont enjoy driving that car)

obviously you need to be familiar with the tracks

if you can't get the bronze, you can also buy the car for the NCD. 20mil cr. should take less than 3 hours to raise (the newest 650pp seasonal almost pays 1mil per race w/ login bonus and Time trials and drift trial payouts are pretty good as well)

Turn off the Traction Control, and try to cut corners.
I tried a whole morning with no aids (except ABS), and I finally managed to get gold. I'd say it's impossible to gold the other two with a DS3, though some did manage to do it.

At Monza, you can be aggressive with cutting the corners on the second chicane. This is the only one I silvered with the DS. Golded using a wheel using the same tactics.

Still can't do better than Bronze on the other 2 though.
