:confused:I finished (completed) the Junior Championship, but cannot open the Standard Championship. Is there some sort of placing requisite for the Standard Championships? I finished 12th overall in the JC. No I don't like Red Bull cars of any kind. So I just drove to complete.

I think you must be at least 3rd overall to get the car and unlock the next segment of the event

Which sucks as it seems impossible to get closer than 8th. I tried all kind of tires (RH, RM and RS) and the car is literally GLUED to the track in a bad way.

I found these cars are MUCH faster without TCS. Turn off the aids, ABS-1 only. I am on a ds3 as well. I didn't even think of changing the tires. I went with whatever the default was.

I think 3rd or higher is required, i used racing soft tires, default settings, ps3 controller and automatic transmission, and i had to drive the championship 15-25 times before i got gold. My advice have to be not to try to win the first (5-10) times, get familiar with the tracks and most important the car first, you will learn that you can have higher speed through corners and less braking ;)

Thank you for giving me hope! :cheers::gtpflag:

Practice the junior event alot and try to push the car to its limites in the corners, I use the driving line and brake late into some corners and others I just release the accelerator and coast through. I won some of those races by more than 10 seconds after a few try.

Turn SRF off. It will slow you down and the RB Jr doesn't need it. You need to remember:

1. They don't handle like the other cars in the game as they have much different characteristics namely more traction;

2. They stick to the track extremely well so you can carry more speed into corners; leading to

3. A lot of corners you either can brake a lot later than normal or don't need to brake at all but just lift off the throttle, coast to the apex, then re-apply the throttle.

4. Increase controller sensitivity. I used to use +2 (except for RB at Goodwood when I went to -2) but recently changed it to 7 for the WRS Week 1 Time Trial and have found most cars are better with it like that. It gives you more room for maneouvre and allows for finer movements

I just found a thread in the videos forum from someone showing how they got gold in the Junior championship. Clearly, different races may need different lines of driving due to the driver but they will give you a good understanding of how and when to apply throttle, brakes etc. Oh, and as pointed out by someone earlier, use Automatic gears if you don't already...that will allow you to just focus on driving the car. I use a DS3 myself and found them pretty straightforward but I can understand the difference in handling from "normal" cars can be troublesome. Hope some of that helps.

Edit: I guess it helps if I put the link here...DOH!:

I made a video of the entire championship from start to finish. Took about 18 minutes and I spun out once or twice and didn't do the last race. Still got 2 million.
