Just curious about this one, when playing, if it is stock,(gear wise) it wont shift into 7ths gear, but i also played with the downforce, so if i default that, will i be able to shift back into 7th gear, and hit 300?
Yes aero in this game causes drag, the more downforce the slower you'll go down the straights but you'll be faster in the corners. Less downforce and you'll get less drag so you'll be faster down the straights but not as fast in the corners (its a generalisation). Very realistic feature of GT5.
I've also noticed this, when I won my S. Vettel I put the downforce as low as it could go and could reach 300 mph but with high downforce it couldn't shift into 7th gear
