Title says it all. I am only a OK player so are there any good tips. I tried researching videos but a controller is very different from a wheel.

To be perfectly honest good luckwith anything other then bronze if ur using a controller. I did all bronzes with my DS3 so I would say the big thing is use manual and just learn the tracks. Repitition is boring, but it's the only way. Also, don't take breaks with cars other then the x1, because the x1 is more intense and I personally lose x1 skill if I switch to an inferior car.

P.S. Save Suzuka for the end. It'll kill ya

UGH!!!! i hated that track!!! for some reasons it was the 1st corner that kept on getting me!! But yerh to get bronze, try not to push the car, 'cus that when you'll start going wide in some of the corners, just drive the car NEAR, or as close to the limit as you can, and you should be able to breeeze it with all bronze medals...!

Put skid recovery force on, Turn controller sensitivity up to 7, on Monza cut the chicane,on Nurb gp run wide on the 3rd and 4th corner, and jump the curbs a bit on the las chicane, and for Suzuka i hope you would have learnt enough because there is nothing you can do to make Suzuka easier.

Get a wheel if you want anything above bronze.
Only about 0.002% of the community golded S.Vettel with a controller.

The title of the post is help with a controller... and it sounds like the OP is asking about completing it, not necessarily getting gold. (So all this get a wheel to gold it is rather away from the OP's question, begging your pardons!)

If you're looking to complete it with a ds3, the #1 advice I've seen a few times is to pump up the controller sensitivity!

Since I seem to do best with my sensitivity lower than most, not sure this would help me, but I haven't even tried it.
I watched my bf try it once or twice, and he put it aside for another day, though I don't think he was far off. We're both ds3, casual middle aged "sofa players", & we've only had the game less than 2 months.
So don't let anyone discourage you if you're having fun trying!

SRF = On.
All other aids including ABS  = Off.
Steering Sensitivity = 7.

This was what I used to get bronze. Actually getting round the thing while getting the bronze time isn't hard, it's keeping the bloody speed freak on track! Nurburgring took me >30 mins, Monza took me >5 mins, Suzuka took me <40mins.

^ What he said. I kept the steering sensitivity set to 7 on my hotlaps, though 5-6 will also be enough;)

And remember, perservance is the key. If you give up mid-challenge, you'll never complete it. I was aiming for Gold, and it took nearly 3 hours just to Gold everything:banghead:

What I did was turn and brake at the same time. This way you go around the turns faster. Don't follow the driving line at all it just messes you up.

Thanks for the advice. Well so far I didn't do one single lap yet.
Just practice getting used to doing *clean* laps first. Get to know the braking points of the course. THEN you can start pushing, and shaving fractions of a second off here and there.

It's doable with a DS3. TOUGH, but doable.

Try not to brake at the 1st turn on suzuka.. Trial and error.. Took me close to an hour for the 1st 2 and around 2 hours for the suzuka.. Good Luck..

ugh man... I have an OLD ds3, with a worn out stick to boot... I am an average driver (for example, I have won the fgt championship with 935 hp car and aids OFF), but for the life of me, I cannot keep the thing on the track! I am grinding B-spec so I can win one and actually pull off some practice. that is my advice...

Here are my replays with my DS3(All Gold):

Nurburgring:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLCNS6X2BaI">YouTube Link</a>

2.08:000 for gold.

It shows you did a 2.08:150.

Wat.

HKS racing controller , around £45 uk , ideal if you don't have room or money for a decent wheel , good luck ;)

Just put the Controller Sensitivity to 7.

Just like the buddies are saying here.

If yu get used to this settings, you might even finish the race with a 2:01 time, in front of Vettel (F1 isn't the same with this guy on the wheels. rs)

EDIT: I told the time you can make in Monza, by the way.

One you win doesn't drive like the one in the challenge in my opinion anyway.
