Red 'loading/processing' spinner

Anyone ever seen this happen? It's always white, the spinning thin underneath the red and blue block, but after my endurance race while loading the replay it was red. I'm sure it has something to do with loading a 24 hour replay, but I'm curious if anyone else has seen this or know why it's a differant color. This is the only time I've ever seen it and I've completed all the endurance races.... I dunno. Anyone?

this happened to me, and then 2 days later it wouldnt load races....so i took a look at the disc, and realized it was dirty, if not lightly scratched. I cleaned it off best i could, and then ran it through one of my friends cd unscratcher things (the kind u get at sam goody or music stores) and it worked fine, so i would say (based on my experience) take a look at your disc, it may need a cleaning...

my gt4 runs perfect on my ps2 with alway a white spinner. on my mates it changes from white to red because his ps2 has problems reading it. try cleaning your laser. :)

hope that works for you :)

I had it a few times and it is quite annoying since it will make you reset your console and loose your latest achievements...

What I did?

When it occured I simply turned my PS2, (old model) and after a while the circle became white again.

I had this problem only when the game was loading a race in Fuji (2005). I solved it carefully cleaning the disk.

Top tip: I use Crome Cleaner to clean CDs/DVDs which have become tempremental. gently polishing CDs with a lint free cloth and Crome Cleaner will remove a very fine layer of the plastic which lays on top of the actual data. You can actually remove some quite nasty scatches. I wouldn't do this too many times as eventually (EVENTUALLY...) you will compleatly polish off the protective plastic and start physically damaging the disk. So use it wisely and you should have many more happy times with your favorite DVDs/CDs. It seems to work well ive managed to recover a few CDs from being totally unreadable to working perfectly

despite spending ages adjusting the laser and cleaning it etc etc, i still get this from time to time, and it is again becoming frequent. if it happens infrequently you can remedy it in the short term by just ejecting the cd and putting it back in again. PS2 then sets about reading the cd again and this often solves it, so there's no need to reset and lose your recent progress.

That's exactly what I'm doing with my new model. Just turn it slightly and it goes white. I think that it's like everyone says, the lens is dirty or the disc is dirty, but I think that after almost a month of being on constantly it's time to turn it off and clean 'er up...

'Turn' meaning what? Rotate? Vertically or horizontally? That never occoured to me, I just eject the disk and put it back. Or wait it out (I don't usually do that anymore, but I used to keep a book beside me for waiting out the red loading icon of death).
I get more often then any other time when it's loading a replay, which I always skip anyway, so it's rather annoying.
