I was going to check a conversation message when I got redirected to this page

(links removed)

It basically tells me that my Java version is obsolete and I need to download the latest version, it is not even the official page.

When trying to go to this sub-forum I got redirected to this other link.

My thoughts are the downloads are full of viruses...

I think it has something to do with the ads. because this is the only page I set so AdBlock doesn't block the ads on this page.

Is it something you can fix?

Let me check it :/

Didn't have to deal with it since I was redirected the second time.

I've had random redirects to these kinds of pages quite a few times. They're obviously malicious and I wouldn't risk clicking anything on them. I simply close whatever tab gets redirected to this kind of crap and go find the page I wanted to go to. These things aren't exclusive to this website. In fact, I don't think I've even had any incidents here. If you can't stop them from happening, just ignore them. Close the tab that's giving you that kind of page, go find whatever page you wanted to go again, and move on. Doing so, I've had no problems avoiding whatever malware may be lurking past those automatic redirects.

You've got malware. I had this a few months ago when my brother got some malware onto my laptop when he was watching some anime and I still have some hidden, however using task manager I can disable the malware that is causing the redirects.

Yes, definitely scan your computer. I recommend Malwarebytes antimalware. Installing no-script is great for general web safety even if it's a bit inconvenient at times.

You should probably edit out the links in your post too, it's not your intention but you're linking people to malicious websites. :P

Scanned the PC, nothing has been found.

And I have not been redirected to those pages since I was redirected for the second time.

Thank you everyone for the help and advise you gave me :D:tup:

I can report I was having this yesterday morning (UK time) at this site (full page redirects to "Flash out of date!" alert object in an otherwise empty page). I've done a full MB scan in addition to my installed McAfee, all clean. To be safe I've done a clean install of flash.

The problem stopped for me after that, that's all the info I can offer :)

I actually checked out a couple of these kinds of pages (Through Tor, just to be safe) just to see where they would lead me, and both linked to a page for a Mac program called Purifier. I can't confirm the legitimacy of the software, however.

Had this problem myself, but after a scan with MSE, Avast, and Malwarebytes, they all said my computer was clean.

Figured the problem related to flash since I was actually having script errors on sites like Facebook and YouTube, updated it (flash), and now the issues are gone.

Just wanted to check, is there an ad on the news page entitled The F-150 earns its stripes. Promoted by Ford and just plays a video when I click it. Seems unusual and I've never noticed anything like that before.

Yes, that's normal. Those ads were installed earlier this year.

I stupidly fell for that one. Full of adware and a remote access program.

One way to avoid that is to do it yourself. If anything pops up, and you think it might be real, do yourself a favor and go manually to their website (adobe.com) and download the update. That'll ensure everything is 100% legit. :)

By the way, Chrome users do not need to worry about updating Flash. It updates itself automatically.
