I got to about 93% in GT3 after completing the Formula GT series and went through a bit of a 'burn-out' phase (which coincided with me getting GTA3).
I'd been picking away at GT3 a bit here and there (mostly for the Team GTP qualifying) but hadn't been spending a lot of time on it.
So, I dragged it out last night and spent some of my millions on:
- an R34 V-Spec II GT-R
- a RUF3400S
and ran them bog-standard in a couple of events at the Beginner Level at Deep Forest (favourite track).
It really brought home how good a job Polyphony did on the standard cars. They ran quite similar times (RUF slightly quicker) but were completely different in how they went about it (particularly with the Logitech wheel), the RUF reliant on maintaining cornering momentum, and much more responsive with the NA motor, the Skyline using torque and traction to haul itself out of corners.
Also, found a great race for people to try - standard Mini Cooper (just oil change) run at Midfield, either in the FF or Sunday Cup (forget which) up against a CRX, Civic, another Mini, one of those little Mazda vans. You've got no horsepower, but it's pretty close to flat everywhere - hilarious...
Just thought I'd share...
