Reducing garage size for online.

I've been having some thoughts recently about the size of my standard car garage and the loading time of it. Over 1300 cars take an eternity to load up. PD really need to give us a folder option as a lot of people have mention in other threads.

Has anyone ever taken their main save and stored it to USB then taken their standard car garage down to a managable 300-350 car size? I can also reduce my premium garage to about 200 while I'm at it.

100 favorites just never seems to be enough.

If so what problems did you have? I don't want to use it for normal A or B spec just mostly for online and speed testing.

I should still be able to use my main save for Aspec and Bspec racing and Seasonals shouldn't I?

The only problems I can see are in that I need to log on to both daily saves to keep 200% bonus. There may also be a problem with my race win count in my profile and miles driven but thats not really a problem.

Anyone have any other thoughts or ideas?

First off, I have two accounts. My main account has 800+ cars and on the other account only has 50 cars. The main account takes twice as long to load.

Let me get this straight. You want two game saves on the same profile? It is possible. You might need more than one flash drive though, when you back it up it will overwrite any GT5 save one that flash drive.

sell any cars you're not likely to drive.
there's no point collecting cars if you're never gonna drive them.

Its not that I won't drive them. What I mean is that when I play online, I generally use maybe one quarter of my garage at the most.Trawling through 1300 standard cars is getting to be a real pain and most of time playing seems to be waiting for them to load.

The rest well yes, I did just collect them so that I have every car in the game. I don't think I'll ever use every Skyline, MX5, RX7 etc in the game for most of my racing but I don't want to loose them. Example of why I keep them is, I just found out how good a M3CSL can be. Never bothered with one until recently.

I think what I'm going to do is maybe pick the top 500 or so cars that I have driven in the 14 months that I've been playing the game and keep them in my "using account" under my profile but keep a backup of the near 1600 cars that I have now just in case I ever want to use the others.

I have a backup of my save on my comp and backup drive. I also have 4 very small usb drives (128 meg) that I've used for other things in the past.

I think I'll just go for it and I can always transfer over any car to my main save so long as its under 1,000,000 credits. OR I can always just switch back to playing the 1600 car account.

I've only just thought of this, may be possible or not, but if you can create 2 profiles using the same psn login, e.g starcarper and allcars, both using your psn login so the save game should work online, then have 2 different save files for each profile, star carper might be the online racing based cars and most used cars, and all car well, has all cars.

For the saves to work, simply make a copy as it is now, so you have all cars, then trim down the garage to how you want it to be. then copy the save file with all cars onto the new profile.

I have no idea if this will work, but the logic say it would, unless you can't have 2 profiles with the same psn.

lozzy that's my thoughts too. I can't see why it shouldn't work.Only using my starcarper login. If I just delete the cars I don't want. Darn DLC cars can't be deleted but everything else can. Then IF I want I can still login with my original large garage.I can still send cars to friends from that too.

Only problems I can see are the ones I mentioned earlier. The 200% bonus will drop due to inactivity on my large garage but hey I can always leave 20,000,000 cretits for anything I ever want.The race win count will just continue on the smaller garage.

I think it will be a good way to speed up online and practice without losing any of my collection.

Just pick 2 or 3 of the fastest cars (Road and Race) at 50PP increments from 350 - 750 and put in your favourites! SIMPLEZ!
