What is the deal with on-track "sponsors" in PS1-era Gran Turismo games such as Weaver, Barrett, Progress International, Bolland Sportswear Inc, etc? Are those things fictional companies, or real ones? If they are fictional, how you get the idea of those sponsors?
Someone in the GT1 forum did a search about it and assumed it was a real company. A clarification on this issue would be very welcomed.
