As many people probably know, most car forums have a regional section so you can talk with people who live around you. I didn't even realize it until I went to look for it today that GTP doesn't have anything like that.

I was going to start a post to see what kind of interest level there would be about having a tournament where a large group of local GT players can come together for a weekend to race and hang out. Any idea on the best way to go about this?

I'm just looking to gauge interest right now, but this would be for hosting a GT tourney in Orlando, FL. Somewhat like the GT Academy finals I guess...

Touché TB. Not exactly what I was looking for, but that will certainly be more than sufficient for what I'm trying to do. I guess I'm just too used to the typical car forum format of having a separate regional section, and I didn't even see that there as I usually never bother with the off-topic section of any forum. Thanks for pointing it out. :)👍

Judging by the number of threads in the forum TB pointed out, having regional sections might be pointless.

Seems like it.

Or perhaps they would be ideal, since *ahem* probably not a lot of people know about that part of the forum. ;)

Edit: Hadn't actually looked until you mentioned it... but yeah, I'm pretty sure that's going to be useless for finding other Floridians interested in gathering for a tourney. :indiff:

Actually, there's a lot of Floridians on these boards (see the world map thread in The Rumble Strip), but we've never managed a meet-up. I travel so darn much, that it would be impossible, unless I happen to be the area.

If I ever post in the regional section, my only progress would be this:

Anyways TB, that's a part of GTP which I never new existed :dunce:

Can we have a sub-forum just for those of us in Chongqing? :sly:
Start a new group and set it to private invite only. 💡
