i found this on game pro it was just put up yesterday

19-DEC-03
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has announced that there is a bug in Gran Turismo 4: Prologue Edition that prevents people with Logicool (Logitech in US) GT Force and GT Force Pro users to accelerate fully or turn correctly. The problem is only seen with these peripherals, and does not affect people who play with the standard dual analog controller. SCEJ will allow users to exchange their defective copy for a fixed copy for free.

SCE has announced no plans to release the Prologue Edition in the U.S. The full version is slated for release next month in Japan, and in April for the U.S.

i hope this is right!!!:)

If APRIL in the U.S., though I would like to see some proof of the source, when will it ever come out here in Europe or the U.K. ? :trouble:

Heh, April US release means the Japanese one will be Feb/Mar.

Link Please.

The only thing is PD have been aiming for a simultaneouse release worldwide, the only date I'm going to believe is the one PD give, even if it gets delayed again their erlease date is going to be more accurate than some journo speculating.

I'm hoping for a worldwide release by end of April, that way they've had plenty of times to solve problems & maybe add more cars etc plus everyone gets game at same time with no missing McLarens, Nomads etc ;)

If say Japanese copy gets the McLaren & the US copy doesn't then they won't be able to race if the person with the Japanese copy races with the McLaren. Unless it was up/downloaded which I doubt we'll see. Therefore ideally every version needs to be more or less identicle bar TV mode & language to allow for true worldwide gaming. (Which generally isn't possible anyway, still in prinicipal it is hehe) :)

why is it not possible for every version to be the same bar language and maybe car names? i can't see why that would be soo hard to do

Erm, think you misread what I said (which I probably didn't say clearly anyway) I meant 'true worldwide gaming. (Which generally isn't possible anyway, still in prinicipal it is hehe)' in that generally if you play on a server at otherside of the world you get a crap ping and a load of lag.

Not that a worldwide release isn't possible with more or less identicle versions :)

Awesome! I sure hope they're right.

You can easily race people outside of your country without warp/lag. Unless the netcode is a total pile, of course.

Well if the netcode & internet was perfect then perhaps.

But simply trying to ping servers or games in Japan from where I am your lucky to get a ping of under 400 which practically always results in lag if you try to play. On most connections (in UK for example) the best you can reach with bearable lag is some US servers & most European servers.
