Hi all
Last night my Ps3 died(red light of death!)
Luckily a few days ago I had saved my Data for GT5.I will be getting a new Ps3 tomorrow and wondered what the procedure is for reloading the save data. Also would my replays be included in this?

Its a yellow light of death actually but do you backup you saved data?

No, your Replays, Photos and Custom Tracks will all be gone.

Hi,
There is also a "red light of death" fault which I also was not aware of until it happened to my Ps3.On looking up any information on you tube, seems this is quite a common fault with no easy fix.
As I said in my post,I have backed up my data.

To quote Haynes manuals, assembly is the reverse of dissembly.

Put the device onto which you backed up your save into the PS3 (usually USB, but early consoles could take SD and MMC cards too). Go to Game and to Save Data Utility (not Game Data Utility). Go to the top, where that device will be located. Open it, find your save, Triangle, Copy. Done.

Reloading the data is very easy. Just go into the save data utility folder where you go to back up, then click on the storage device icon and pretty much reverse what you did to back up the data.
As mentioned, replays, photos and custom tracks will be gone, but your game progress will remain. You will probably also be missing several thumbnails from your garage. To solve this highlight the car, hit triangle and create thumbnail. Has to be done car by car sadly.
Good luck :)

Hi I think it's the yellow light of death your thinking of because I have the red light of death right now and lots of other times (red light, switched off PS3).

Hi there
The red light of death fault is when u switch on the ps3 from solid red and instead of getting green and blue lights the red light flashes continuously and there is no output to the tv.There is loads of info on this fault on you tube.

Thanks for the info everyone.Seems easy enough to do.Shame about losing my replays and tracks though!
It also seems that not many people know about the dreaded "Red light of death!" fault.Me included !!Previously I was only aware of the yellow light of death.Oh well, another fault to look forward to.Why don't Sony sort this out?
