That they implemented into GT5 after one update? Here is a bit about it on our site after update 2.02:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=236007&page=11

I actually quite enjoyed it, but it was removed after one of the future updates because it was quite glitchy and a lot of people were not fond of it.

My question is this:

Do you think that the dynamic camera was kind of an experiment if you will, for the new physics that they were working on in GT6?

Just a thought.

I liked it.

I don't know why people complained so much...

I don't think it's tied to physics in any way though, don't see why it would be.

Nope, I didn't like it.

Kinda strange that they removed it though. They could've simply given us an option to turn it off.

Good = Here are camera options, we added new angles!

Bad = Everyone uses this camera now.

I honestly don't care what they add. Just let me ignore it all so the game doesn't look different every 2 weeks.

Um yea...I dont know what I was thinking earlier lol. Must be all the percocet I am on from getting my teeth pulled.

I think making that dynamic camera an on/off option in GT6 would be a welcome addition for those of us that liked it.

May I ask where exactly was this dynamic camera being used? Replay or cockpit view during gameplay? Didn't play GT5 for sometime before and picked it up again recently... :p

edit: now I found it from that link.. sadly I don't use chase cam too often.. so I didn't realize PD has added a new chase cam back then. :)

I actually missed the dynamic camera when it was released because I wasn't playing GT5 around the time of the Spec 2.0 release. For anyone like me who doesn't know about it, here's a video (you can see it in action at 4:25).

I absolutely hate GT5's chase cam for two reason. First, it's too rigidly tied to the back of the car so there's little sense of lateral motion which is really important when, say, drifting. Secondly - and this is my bigger issue - the car is way too small and distant from the camera, which actually messes with my ability to drive effectively.

The dynamic cam sort of fixes the first issue but doesn't help the second. It's still tightly stuck to the rear of the car, but the way it counteracts the car's motion helps create a sense of movement. I actually kind of like it, though of course PD should include an option to turn it off. Actually, they should just allow the player to set a custom angle like many other games out there.

To me, it kinda made the game feel little more fast paced if you think about it? It would be nice to have it again as an option in GT6. :)

The reason they removed it was because it was broken , after a few laps the camera would skip a frame or two and make a car clip.. most people never noticed it but you would after 4 plus laps or even after one lap if you looked for it.. after 20 laps it was game breaking. EVERY ONE HAD IT! PD acknowledged it and tried to fix it and it only delayed the effect .
Every one had this... EVERY ONE!

Not me...

I quite liked the idea of it at the time, but it gave me mild motion sickness so I was happy when it was removed. Still, I'd like to see it as an option in GT6.

Remember the chase camera settings on the first (or second?) Gran Turismo? You were able to adjust the distance of the camera from the car, and adjust how 'loose' you wanted the camera to pivot around the car.

I absolutely want back those GT1 and GT2 options, i like very much to see closer the beautiful premium model ingame. I have twitted to Kaz a request to reintroduce it, more request maybe can do something

I played with it just a little, I don't use Chase Cam at all. It reminded me of the annoyingly disorienting "helmet cam" Shift 2 used in the cockpit view.

Gran Turismo 3's Chase was the best IMO. There should be an option for it in GT6, but I'm pretty sure that won't be happening.

Yes the GT3 Chase view was good. Now they only have to widen the FOV a little for a better sense of speed. And we gonna have fun! But no... for what ever strange reason we have the worst chase cam in GT history...

I have been complaining about this since GT5p

Furthermore why can't you rotate the camera in a 360° to enjoy the beautiful premiums?

All you can do is look stiff straight forward floating somewhere far behind in the air...

posted this on another thread, might be appropriate here to.

Dynamic camera ... something like this but a little bit tame.
How about a check box for "realistic" cockpit view (see vid below, 1:11 ). Helmet/head movement would depend on turbo lag, braking strength, suspension, etc.

For some people who crave a bit more extreme driving experience they can check the box.

It would have more to do with the game engine and nothing to do with physics. Luckily, the game engine is completely new too. Hopefully they don't forget about it or think that people don't at least want the option.

Gt3's is way to close to the back of the car

It's funny you say that because if I had it my way, the car would be so close it would take up half the screen like it did in GT1 haha. To each their own...
