Just a handy reminder for those who may not know, but when you get a gift ticket (birthday car, 1000 ticket, Level 24 ticket, etc.), remember to quit your game and back up your Save Game File to a USB drive BEFORE you open that ticket!

I got my L24 ticket earlier today, and was happy to get a brand new, zero-mile FGT with it. But I also got the 1000 ticket last night, and received a Miata when I opened it. Fortunately, I'd saved beforehand, so was able to quit, load the backup file, open the game, open the ticket again, and got... A Citroen 3C 1.6.

Lather, rinse, repeat. Took a few tries, but then came the Ferrari 330 P4 '67. I'll take that, thank you very much! :)

Point being, you're not stuck getting a crappy prize car if you don't want it!

Yep, I do this all the time.
Unfortunately, only found out about this after opening my tickets.
Only got 1000 tickets now.
Haven't won a level 24 ticket yet.

I'm level 30/27 I wasted so many tickets, not sure its worth restarting for 0 mile cars

You can still get 1000 tickets by driving 2000 KM or getting 100 wins on one track.
I use to care about 0 miles cars a lot, in the end, it's just a pointless idea as your not driving the car.

Yeah, same here - not worth restarting, but worth keeping in mind for next time! Even after I heard about this, I still opened a couple, just in the excitement to see what I got...

I got the L24 ticket for finishing B-spec completely.

Welcome to the dark side! Zero-mile cars are nice, but a car that's not driven is a car not worth having.

Yeah, and cars get better the more you drive them too.
Why just leave them sitting in your garage when you can ENJOY them?

Only ticket I'm missing is the Level 12 ticket.. might have to progress further on my second account so I can score a GT Academy 370.

I really don't understand this process. Is there somewhere where I can see it being done step by step?

I just saved 13,000,000+ Cr. with a second account by playing the seasonal events only. I don't have to worry about the gift tickets. : )

Too bad they changed the seasonal events, I wanted to save 20 mil. Cr. so I could buy any car I want.

Cool so i can just drive any car i want without earning it, oh boy this will be so much fun, this is exactly why i bought GT5 rofl.
Some people are gonna really love when shift2 and TDU get released, the GT5 server's might actually be able to hold clean races.

No, you actually bought it so you could go grinding 24 million XP just to get from L35 to L40 rofl. ;)

I've no doubt you're right. Some people WILL be glad to see those games. I've never played either of those franchises, though, so I won't be one of them. 'Course, I've never played GT5 online, either, but don't let that stop you from your whinging.

By the way, how is it that you think one has "earned" a bad car or a good car via gift ticket, anyway? I mean, if player X gets an FGT, and player Y gets a VW Beetle for the same ticket, is it fair that they both "earned" that for the same amount of "work"?

hold on, sorry to be out of touch here but how do you get 1000 tickets?

I wasted many tickets before found out about the restore thing. Now I have 21, 24 & 1000 ticket.

Agree on the 0 miles. I don't quite understand why people likes to keep their cars 0 miles. Totally wasted.

Its not like you cant get the ticket cars - they just have 0 mile and save your CR.

0 miles cars are good for online... i suppose. At least for a really competive online races, where even 20 - 30HP would make a differense. Also it's a good way to save your money on rebuilding engine/chassis.
Got some X1 with 10k miles which lost a few HP? Trash it and use a new one, you'll save a 500k/1m.

P.S.
I have every ticket saved, except lvl 24 one... i don't like FGT/F1 cars anyway tho.

Like someone said before, you don't need to grind if you gold every event, one by one.
Now the problem is that many people don't want to play endurance races which makes them grind, get bored and then resort to exploiting the game.
Nice, very nice (notice the sarcasm).

You get the "1000 ticket" for doing 2000km or for winning the same race 100 times, if I understand it correctly. I'm fairly sure I won my last one for grinding Indy a whole bunch of times.
