Remote Racing (is it losing the appeal?)

Just curious if Remote Racing is losing the appeal. I think I've got close to 50 friends on my GT list for Remote Racing. For a while it seemed like many were participating. Now every time I go in to collect.., 99% of my earnings are from one person.

I'm sure I have made those on my list a good bit of dough as I was running Remote Races pretty hard for a while.., but the appeal seems to be fading. It's just starting to seem pointless spending the time on the races if few are participating.

I've stopped using it since Level 40 was reached. My B-Spec drivers are still in the mid 30s but the only race I've got to do now in B-Spec is the Nurburgring 24h. I'd do it from now on simply if I wanted Platinum to be honest...

There's so much money to be made in the seasonals now there's no point unless you're trying to get an individual driver to level 40...

But I am grateful to McLarenManiac, Jbl330 and a bunch of others I can't remember--I went from 370 cars to 800 cars in my garage before it finally wound down

I have to agree. The amount of money to be made in the seasonal events is really the way to go now for a lot of credits in a short amount of time. If I remember correctly.., one of the most recent events pays out over 500k for first place.

When I need to make the credits fast.., I just re-race those events. I wonder what PD plans for the future with Remote Racing. I can't imagine them keeping these seasonal events at such a high pay out for too much longer.

It still has value to the hardcore collectors since an entire OCD can cost more than 20mil. Remote racing has me sitting on almost 100mil right now and I buy out the OCD every refresh.

It's probably true. Most money my shared drivers earn are from very few people. At the moment, it seems only two of the people on my friends list are still racing my drivers.

I guess it all depends on what you want out of it. I actually like remote racing. I like to remote race, to watch it, and to check the stats. I simply make sure to race the people who race me, and the ones who've given me freebies in the past, or good deals on trades. It's a way for me to give back too. And, of course, I'm still $3M short of that $140M. But even with a full bank account, I'll still be racing. I'm currently thinking of getting rid of some of my drivers and train some new ones, to see whether I can get some more competitive ones. To me, remote racing still has a lot to offer, but, as said, it all depends on what you, yourself, want to get out of it.

Edit: Don't forget to sign up for the 2011 GTP B-Spec NASCAR Championship if you've got a driver who's eligible! Now tell me that isn't fun!? ;)

I know fewer people are doing it on my list than when it was first introduced but I am remote racing every night along with one other guy. It is still a great way to make money when not playing. Once I get my air of experience trophy and everyone reaches 40 I will retire 5 of them and start again.

That, and also they haven't updated the events for 3 months.

I would just like to add that, since the seasonals have been triple payouts I have not been running any remote races. Has soon as they change back to normal payouts the racing will restart. I am level 37 a-spec, level 40 b-spec and have all endurance races to do yet. I also have 1025 cars, 1500+ paints and still no bloody chrome, lol.

It's definitely slowed down. I still run remote a couple times a week, usually when I need to leave my PS3 running to charge the headset and controller. Seems 3-4 guys on my list are doing likewise. I have all six of my B-Spec drivers still online, though. With the 3x seasonals payout I've been relying on those credits for purchases and leaving my remote earnings in the bank as a reserve in case I have to drain the primary account for something (which, now that I have both Chaparrals, would most likely be a non-Vettel X2010, the ORECA Peugeot 908, or a series of engine/chassis rebuilds). Other reason for leaving the remote earnings is insurance against the inevitable day that PD removes the 3x payout -- it's supposed to be temporary, remember, and I'm assuming it goes away with the 1.11 patch.

im currently running every night so add me!!! my drivers are >16 so im just trying to make cash and up their levels.
