Hi everyone. Just wanted to know if anyone had removed the clamps from their G25 steering wheel. I built a Racebase seat but find the wheel hits my knees when I break. So, has anyone removed them? Is it difficult. I'm a little nervous of opening up the wheel in case I damage it. Thanks for any help.

I haven't come across any guides yet but Google may hold some answers if no one replies on here. I'll update if I happen to come across any guides, as well.

I'm guessing that you do know that the black blocks on that clamps will come off giving almost 1/2" that the clamp would move up out of your knee? They snap off just be careful not to break them. I removed mine for the same reason. Just checked and they are about 3/4".
Picture of blocks can be seen in Compact Timber Cockpit thread tried adding picture couldn't

You have to take the casing off to remove the clamps. But try taking the spacers off first to see if thats good enough. Not having the clamps might make you wheel wiggle around a bit.

I took mine apart to add a spacer inside that allowed me to clamp to thinner material without the spacer blocks. I just glued some coins under the clamps to lift them up.

I'm also thinking of removing the clamps, as I screwed the wheel (well...the base) in place so I don't actually need the clamps anymore...

It shouldn't be that hard...just open the casing and take a look inside..;)
