Well many sources suggest peak torque of 206lb @ 6800rpm.

I know. And unfortunately they got it wrong, most of them. That 6800 thingy comes from the official Renault press bumf that mentions a bump in the rev limit - from 6500 to 6800. And ohh look, that's mentioned right after the torque figure in that said press release.

See, the regular Clio RS makes its peak torque at 1750 rpm. You gotta admit, a slightly modified version won't make its torque that much higher in the rev range, right? :sly:

This one has torque boost feature which in third and fourth gears it reaches peak torque at 206lb.

...Yes, I know. I actually have Renault's own press release.

I'm c & p -ing it.

  • Maximum power has been increased to 220hp at 6,250rpm (up 20hp)

  • Maximum torque rises to 260Nm (a gain of 20Nm)
  • ‘Torque Boost’ feature in fourth and fifth gears raises peak torque to 280Nm (a gain of 40Nm)
  • Maximum revs increase from 6,500rpm to 6,800rpm
  • Complying with Euro6 emissions standards, the car’s CO2 output improves by 6g/km to 138g/km and also drops down a VED band

aah that's all good then, and I have to say I like this one better.
