Renault will unveil at the Paris Auto Show the Ondelios Concept, Renault’s vision of a high-end crossover. Tthe Ondelios is designed to combine a comfortable ride with respect for the environment.

The 4.8-metre-long, 1.6-metre high Ondelios has drawn inspiration from the world of aviation design to deliver high drag efficiency and a Cd of just 0.29. This long-distance voyager boasts sleek, smooth, amazingly fluid lines that make it appear as though it glides over the ground. It embodies Renault’s vision of high-end car.

A number of the car’s structural parts are made from natural flax fibre for greater recyclability and, in keeping with the commitment to make the car as light as possible, its body is made from carbon and polycarbonate.

The Ondelios is equipped with a lithium-ion battery and powered by a hybrid powerplant which combines a powerful 205hp (150kW) version of the 2.0 dCi engine, with two 20kW electric motors at the front end rear.

It's...unbelieveably ugly in profile, and the interior's a little too...Jetsons...for me.

It's very interesting, I'll give it that. Though the music controls seem like they may be a bit out of the drivers' reach..

And the seats look uncomfortable and slouch-y!

Kind of figured since the keyboard thing on the dash is slightly different than the one on my laptop.

I like it in a cautious sort of way. It's the most un-Renault like Renault I've ever seen, but in another respect it's very Renault for being completely mental and pushing the boundaries of style, and I wouldn't put it past them building a production car that looks similar.

I quite like the profile view to be honest, you can see where it gets its low drag rating from.

I like the interior, the exterior looks different, but overall I think it's a cool car. Innovative dash, exterior, pretty much everything.

Am I the only one who got motion sickness just looking at it?
