So let me get this straight - Renault take on Alonso, tell Jenson 'well, you made Trulli look over-rated this year, but you're sacked', and then decide that because his contract runs to December 31, he can't participate in testing for BAR until January - what a pack of arseholes!

I guess any drivers coming to Renault from a Honda team in coming years can look forward to a quiet lead-up to Christmas.

Clowns...

It is petty, but there's not really much he can do until the new car comes out. I would say he's better off letting Anthony Davidson do all the engine durability work, and he can have a nice rest. Then he can come back fresh and learn the new car with his new engineers.

But that's the French for you!

Actually, it's exactly the sort of behaviour you'd expect from Briatore.

I still dont understand why renault didnt keep him on in the first place. Why would you want to fire the driver that scores the most points in the season?

Or was it a personal thing?

Because the other two drivers are both managed by the team principal. Briatore also manages Webber.

Word on the street was that both of them had clauses which said they would be released from Briatore's control if they did not get a race seat for 2003.

Make up your own mind!

Briatore has now allowed Jenson to drive at the original 2 days he was scheduled for, 13th & 14th December.

Yeah, what arseclowns. Jenson was really on the improve this year, what's this episode going to do to his confidence?

Well one of the things I've noticed at races is the tremendous BAR team spirit. I think he'll thrive in this new organisation, especially with Richards in charge.

I think that everyone should follow BAR's example. I think Panis finished about 3 or 4 races this year (hit me if I'm wrong - missed a few races), and you couldn't find a better bloke anywhere in the paddock - except perhaps Mark Webber. :p

I am liking renault right now. They look like they may have a great car next year.

Im also very impressed with the ametuer formula championships they are running. For the first time there is an ametuer f1 championship in the usa. They run fran-am 1600 and 2000. The winner of fran-am 2000 gets a fully paid season in the super renault v6 series. This series runs very hitech 350hp or so cars that have advanced aerodynamics and all. The cars are beautiful. The winner of this series gets a test with the renault f1 team. needless to say, im impressed.

After i take a skip barber course i may give the franam 1600 series a go, depending on how i feel.

Hmmm let me think about this.

1. Briatore is paid very well by Renault for (amongst other things) choosing Renaults drivers.
2. Briatore picks Alonso and Trulli
3. Briatore manages Alonso and Trulli
4. Briatore as their manager takes a cut of their (substantial) wages

I like the idea of being paid to give myself money.
