Slow In. Fast Out. A rare breed in JGTC/Super GT - an open top racer, the Renault Sport Spider fought JGTC in 1997. In order to survive the longer JGTC races, as opposed to shorter ones the Spider was intended for, custom parts were made in Japan and the engine was sourced from Renault Clio rally car. It only raced once, in Sugo, finishing 32nd (second last) against the onslaught of rain.

That car certainly stands out from the rest of the pack and I like that. This car would also make a great base model in GT6. Voted! 👍
 
Had no idea this actually raced in the JGTC. Looks so out of place when racing against all those GT cars. Voted
 
...All that preparation and raced only once. :lol: Money definitely not well spent there.
 
It looks odd compared to all those Skylines, but it's still cool.

What's that white car in the background? Is that a Miata?
