The Renault TwinRun (or possibly TwinFun) concept was caught on camera while shooting for promotional purposes in Madrid.
Renault might be working on something very interesting as the TwinRun seen in these short clips has a rear-wheel drive layout to go with that tremendous engine sound. In addition to the vents in front of the rear wheels and on the rear bumper this leads us to believe this is a mid-engined car. We also notice a roll cage, center dual exhaust setup, a roof-mounted spoiler and the rear side windows which are thickened and opaque - perhaps to cover what lies inside.
If there will be a production version of this concept, we assume it will be a Twingo Alpine or something similar, like a modern interpretation of the Renault 5 Turbo which can be seen running behind the TwinRun in one of the photos.

I'm looking forward to driving this car!

Love it.

Would be very, very odd if it's just a one-off toy though. My thinking is that this is a breathed-on version of the next Renault Twingo. The next Twingo is already known to be rear-drive, since it's sharing a platform with the next Smart Fortwo and Forfour. Bodes well for the styling if so.

Oh my.

I wish Nissan would consider bringing back Renault in North America... the 1980s Alliance/Encore/Le Car never happened, okay? :)

Yes! They MUST put this into production as is.. All we need now is T16 revival from Peugeot.

Seeing as there has been an explosion of these premium fashion orientated supermini's originally starting with the new Mini and made popular by the Fiat 500 Renault would be silly not to make this.

Most manufacturers have these Hotwheels looking model's in the pipeline, the most recent being Vauxhall with the Adam which is bonkers inside and out... in a good way ;)

Does it have to be so ugly?

I just want a new Alpine A110.

Trying an Adam on Wednesday. Quite looking forward to it. Even if the name and the trim level names make me want to kick puppies.

Not overly keen on any of the "fashionable" superminis though. Though if that's what this Renault is turning out to be, it's off to a good start. Imagine the same car without the stickers and huge bumpers and it's quite a neat little thing - almost like a modern interpretation of the Renault 5.

I'm quite keen on it, the interior looks stunning and its very quirky without being ugly on the outside. I just wish it wasn't called Adam!

I agree about the trim names, if you see the options and colour names they are even more cringe worthy!

I agree with a little toning down it would be a great looking little car. Reminds me of the VW UP! at the rear.

SLAM! GLAM! etc. etc.

I like the way they look inside and out but being a Vauxhall I'm quite sceptical. I know they're still responsible for the Corsa.

Adam has to be the stupidest name I've ever seen/heard for a car.

Hey don't knock the Corsa :sly:, consistently one of the best selling supermini's in the UK for the past decade, German engineered and a decent enough drive.

It's called the Adam because that was Opel's founder, has no relevance whatsoever here in the UK and really should have been renamed for the Vauxhall market although calling it Alex would have been equally bad

Taking a page out of Ferrari's book might not work for every carmaker out there. "Here it is folks, Chevrolet's new sports car, the Louis!"

As long as they don't come out with a convertible offered only in pastel colors called the Eve...

Oh man this little egg is awesome. The spirit of the 5 would be alive and well if this comes into production. The rwd possibility makes it even cooler.

Oiiiii, what's wrong with those crackerboxes? They are very soulful cars, yeah they have their problems but come on, they are somewhat cool. I've always wanted an encore with the giant bubble rear hatch.

The Le Car, otherwise known as the Renault 5 over here, is awesome and always has been. Made other small cars look a bit silly for a good many years after it came out. Amusingly they're becoming quite collectable now.

Yup, and the X Factor is one of the most watched television shows on the air. ;)
