Replay control menu

Is there a way to stop the replay control menu appearing when I perform certain actions such as changing view (cockpit, chase etc.) or changing to watching another racer?

I find it quite annoying to have to close it each time I do something when it's unnecessary. Maybe there's a setting somewhere.

No, however holding L2 and cycling through racers, then releasing when you've found the one you want to view won't bring up that menu.

Using a keyboard you can do much more, I don't know if that makes the menu popup, I've not tried it.

There is no manual for this though, I saw someone on here try it out, pressing various keys can create instant replays and remove player names and stuff.
