replay recordings through capture card question

I know this probably should be in computers and tech section but no one responded last time i posted a question there.

my capture card is usb2.0. if i need it to reach further and i use a usb1.0 extension cord will that decrease quality? i don't even know if it is usb 1.0 or not but it's old (8/9 or so years) and that old creamy colour. i can just make it reach but it would be alot better if i used the extension cord.

also,how much difference does the amount of connections make? my connection goes through the sony ps av cord, through a barrel, through an rca cord, in the input of a tv, out the output and through annother av cord to the capture card. it's easier this way and i can't be bothered explaining why.

If it's USB 1, then it either won't work or will decrease the quality to a point where it's not worth the effort at best. An extension cable may work, but it will have to be at least USB 2.0 or better.

As for your second question. The more connections you have, the more likely there will be a drop in quality. Try to keep the number of connections/junctions to a minimum. Of course, if the quality isn't that good to begin with, then you may not notice a drop in picture performance.
 
it works with the cord so it must be usb2
