Redirecting...
Thanks for posting, your new thread has been sent to the moderators for approval. Once approved, your message will appear on the forum.

I'm getting this page after posting a reply to a thread, the reply doesn't seem to have posted. Is it meant to say that the message (not thread) requires moderation since I am a new user? Or did something assplode?

Your 'test' post has been deleted. Imagine if every new member did this??

Please post something more useful so that we mods can at least approve something worthwhile.

Thanks.

You've completely missed the point of my topic, thanks for the sarcasm help though.

That's what he meant. The Mods have to approve a first post for every member. I didn't see any sarcasm there. Hew as just saying "what if..." relating to the fact that it would get annoying to have one of those pop up every time a new member join.

The key things here are,

I think that's what he's trying to highlight, not that I can test it out.

The staff can see the whole post history and while I understand what you are saying its not the case.

He posted a reply and got the standard holding message and because the staff didn't OK his first post quick enough he then reposted 'random test message'.

Which given how busy we are is not going to get any post OK'd any quicker.

Scaff

Oh OK, when he said you missed the point I started looking for something else.

Moderation reply queue, empty. [check]
Moderation new thread queue, empty. [check]
Non-responded report to mod queue, empty. [check]

It was a good day!

Close but wrong. The 'Usual' message is the one that I posted in my first post, talking about 'new thread' not 'reply' or 'new message'. I posted a "test" reply to double check what I thought was incorrect and got the same message a second time presumably because a mod hadn't ok'd my first reply (and thus authorising me as a poster on this board i'm guessing?). I started this topic not because I have any complaint about the speed of moderation, but because the message a new user gets on posting a reply is confusing and made me think i'd somehow accidentally posted a new topic.

It's probably GTP's safety purpose to practice approving posts because they often look out for spammers.

I understand what you're saying. It must be a single system response for new members that submit a reply (post) whether or not if it's a new thread submission or otherwise.

Nice catch and soon you shouldn't that annoying message any longer.
