Report Thread button?

Sometimes threads can descend into mindless posting, sometimes they can even start out that way. Sometimes there can be three or four people that are misbehaving but the report button would only single out one of them.

Therefore, would it be possible to have a Report Thread button as well as Report Post buttons?
 
Can't you just report the OP and explain why? That's what I do when those types of situations arise. Whatever staff member who is going to investigate the report is probably going to thumb through the thread anyway.
 
There's no feature like that supported by the forum software, but there doesn't really need to be, from the moderator's perspective.

Just report a post that you feel is indicative of the thread's decline, and explain the situation in the comment box.
 
I have noticed that it takes FOREVER for a report to go through...if not I get a "cannot display webpage".
 
Mine don't appear to go through and then I get a message about not being able to submit another report within a minute. :lol:
 
Yeah, that's been an issue since I re-configured the site's email infrastructure a while back. There's not much I can do, but it will hopefully be resolved in a major site software upgrade coming in a few months.

For now, just keep trying if it does hang up on you.
 
I find it odd that reporting a post takes 30 seconds. Exactly 30 seconds. Not 29.5, not 30.5; exactly 30 seconds. One might suspect that the software is delaying intentionally.
