Reputation Question

I don't want to make a reputation discussion thread like the one that got locked before, so I'll close this thread when my question is answered.

When people give me rep, I normally click the tick to read the comment they've written, but for a while now, it's been saying N/A with a grey square by it.

What does N/A rep mean?
