Let's say you've done 3 or 4 laps in a TT & you decide to restart. When you do resart, your tyres go back to deep blue. Does this mean they are now new, or just cold? In other words are they the same ones you had on previously & if you want new rubber, you need to exit to the previous menu & start again?

(I did a search & nothing came up.)

the color is representing of only the tyre temperature, tyre wear displays as the wheels diagram emptying of the "filling" as such:

Thanks, I understand that, but it doesn't answer my question. :) (After only 3 or 4 laps the bar is still full anyway.)

There is no tire ware when doing tt's. Some like to play head games and such but out lap, 1st lap, 20th lap, all the same.

Pretty sure the tire temperature will reset.

The temp resets, yes. But, unlike Arora says, I definitely notice a drop off in grip after a few laps. What I meant in my original question was, do I need to re-start or must I exit & then start again, in order to make sure I have absolutely fresh rubber?

To my understanding restarting puts you right back to the state you first started in, so no need to quit and reload.

To make things easy, just restart the race, everything that you've done since the last successful try will be gone (hence, back to new tires, car etc.)

There is no tire wear for these events so you'll always have good rubber. With that said, you should aim at having the tires white, that means they're warmed up and ready to race. With dark blue tires, you have cold rubber that isn't the best for most race situations.

Thanks for the comments, guys.
