Restricted Network Connection

Everytime I go to Lobby, I get a prompt saying "Your Network Connection is restricted. As a result, you may not be able to join rooms or use certain features. (NAT Type 3)". This is causing the "Show Only Rooms With Friends" not to work for me, my friends' rooms not to show up at all, and there to be less than 50 people collectively in the lobbies at a time in my region (there has to be more people than 50 playing in the lobbies in all of North and South America).

Is this how it's supposed to be or is there something wrong with my connection?
