Restrictions online....

I have a big problem when I joina a room online (yes I know i can make my own):

The problem is that the owner often sets the limits to perfectly fit there car/cars.

i would like the restrictions to be set in stages like:

Hp 200-250 , 251-300 just for lower powerd cars

and make the higher powerd cars be set say : 600-700 hp 701-800 or somthing

Same with weight should only be able to set it in the 100s : min 1000 ,1100 or 1200 and up

This would make it more fun and more different cars on the track.

I would also like restrictions ´like pre 1970 only or only 1980s 1990s cars only

Or NO racecars or RM cars, things that would make it more easy to join a room to you likeing

Kind of agree. Actually i would like more restriction options online. Most of all i would like to have the option to restrict the race for untuned cars only.

It's not that big a deal... You can still beat another guy if you've got slightly less power and slightly more weight if you're better.

If you have a spread, people are simply going to max out their cars within the spread... which would negate the reason for having it in the first place.

BUT: It would be nice to restrict the types of cars allowed... No RM, no racecars, no new cars, etcetera... or even have a restriction set like "stock cars from this list: xxx".
 
You mean you don't like a race where your car needs to be 671hp or less, 1492kg or more, Chevrolet, no turbo, manual transmission, 17" x 9" wheels, rear drum brakes, and a chrome grille? There must be hundreds of cars that fit that description!

Yeah, it's a bit ridiculous. I don't generally join rooms like that.
 
I was in a room the other night and the description of the room said no restrictions at all and it was just a free roaming room with no race.

I've only ever played online a few times with GT so I picked a nice car (my Mazda RX-7 with like 400hp) and started driving away quite happy for a few minutes. Then the owner of the room says this room is for cars with less than 200hp and kicks me out. The room limitations still hadn't been changed or anything and it seemed like the owner was making up rules on the fly.

I sent them a message to apologize but who was in the wrong??

I guess it was me and the owners are the ones who set the rules and can play God??

It won't put me off going online but I wondered if this is the norm??

I'd like it better if you could be more specific about rules aswell. It's annoying having to use a car I wasn't planning on using because it's the only way to beat the host. And when they lose they just change settings again so that everyone has to change car again.
 
People like winning, so you got to expect the host to stack the odds. Its really annoying to be honest, but I'd pick a lobby like that over no limit x1 fests. Garage selection done by host for one car races or shuffle races are usually your best bet for a fair race, or if youve got the time and feel evil just buy the obviously favoured car, tune it real quick and thrash him until he changes the restrictions! If I could add one restriction choice it would be drivetrain... or year (that the car was made). Might make for more interesting car choices... oh or premium/standard, that would be cool.
 
I hosted a Lupo Cup Car race and some dude comes in with an RX-7. Same with other one-make/car type races. I host a lobby, "American Muscle", and some guy drives a Suzuki SX4 WRC. They need to make it so you can select the limited cars from your garage.

About your suggestion, i'd say that would be good as it could keep competition close.
