Hello all,

This will be a short serie with only two races.
(Both with race cars)

After each race, points will be given and the two races added will give a final result.

------------First Round----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The car:BMW M3 GTR Race Car



----------No hp upgrades and nos
----------Tires:racing\soft
----------Only exception on the hp rule: Oil change (473 BHP)

The track:Apricot Hill reverse

The race:

----------2 laps race----(set your arcade races on 2)
----------Family Cup
----------Race Condition Settings -10
----------note:Tire wear on---though I think it is standard in the Family Cup.

The rules:Standard OLR rules

----------2 wheels on the track at all times
----------rumble strips are part of the track
----------no wall contact
----------no AI contact
----------no cheating
----------replay must be saved

T- times from both laps can be discussed,no total laptimes.
Sharing settings will be encouraged and needed.

Please,send you final time and the 2 lap times in a PM to me before 23:59 Saturday evening your local time.(2 July)
I will post the results Sunday.

Reason 1 (AHR is my favourite track) + reason 2 (I missed your previous series in the Mazdas) = count me in.
 
What do you mean by Family Cup? Isn't that a GT Mode race? Anyways, I'm in as soon as you can clear this up :D

When you go to free run you see on the right the Family Cup.

Cyril,somehow I knew you would love it.
I hope the third reason will be the car. :)

It's nice to see an other race so soon, and I will take part in it again! You had beat me for only few hundreth, so I will have my revenge ;-) maybe

A small update from me:

Left at least half a second out there, but not sure if I'll find more time to race this.
 
Well, The BMW Race car is an amazing car.
However I have a little doubt about the tires...Racing soft are the R4? pls thx ;-)
For the splits, I'm losing 2 or 3 seconds on the first lap compare with you, but I'm good timing for the second.(best 1min1'1**)
 
Yes,indeed a strange race. :dopey:

When I have some settings for a fast first lap,they aren't working for the second.
The effect with the tire wear is greater then I thought.

But I have some settings(partly thanks to the search button) now that cost me half a second in the first but gained one in the last.

I wanted to run this, but don't have the time for tuning so I just ran it with stock settings.

L1 - 29.228 - 56.582 - 1'10.308
L2 - 21.602 - 48.663 - 1'02.230

Kind of a boring race. With a good start, I got the lead into the first turn. Then it was just like running hot laps in the time trial. :-/

I don't quite see the point of using the Family Cup mode. Also, the arcade laps setting has no effect on Family Cup. Mine was set on 18 and the race was still only 2 laps.

Also, why R4's? I was tempted to just use the stock R3's just so I wouldn't have to shell out $30k for slightly better tires. Might've been a more interesting race on S3's.

A lead after the first turn.

It was meant to be that people could easily overtake the AI.
Touches are not allowed.
Just to avoid many restarts.
In free run you have a rolling start and here not.
Also you can save the race now as an event.


Why Family Cup?

Because you can do the race in arcade but then you can't fully tune the car.
And tuning can make a big difference to the final times.

And you are right about the arcade lap setting.
Mine stood on 2 and at first I thought it maby was involved with eachother.
My terrible mistake.

And about the R4's.
Never thought about the credits.
In this stage of the game,after a few months release now,credits should have no problem anymore.
You are the first complaining about it.

Hope I could make something more clear now why I choose this concept.

Ah, that does clear up my confusion about why you chose Family Cup. It's really too bad the Arcade lap setting doesn't control the Family Cup race length.

I do like tuning, but I just don't have time for it this weekend. Maybe on race #2. :)

I'm always strapped for cash in GT b/c of all the cars and parts I buy. I rarely have more than $100k.

I raced again tonight but couldn't run a nice first lap and a nice second lap in the same race. Then I started to fumble in the settings and ended up with no improvement.
Best race so far :
Lap 1 : 28.413 / 55.127 / 1'08.978
Lap 2 : 21.270 / 47.610 / 1'01.055

Nice car : I still don't have a clear overview of its potential. I'm faster and faster in the turns, and it still has grip.

I think I reached the bottom now.

My final time for the two laps can be faster because I was a bit too carefull the last bends.
