Rush is back and better than ever.

L.A. Rush is Midway's new racer, and before considering hyper speed fantasy cars, Midway has other things in mind.
Midway has real licensed cars for LA Rush.
And a city big enough for anyone. Let's start with LA.

LA in this game is "suppossedly" bigger than San Andreas. But in this LA, everything is what you expect in real world LA. Tons of people on the street, with tons of cars obeying traffic laws. But no, you can't run over people.
Here's a few stats.
~Open world, heavily populated, very destructable.
~350 square miles of L.A. to play in and explore.
~Story mode with celebrity studded vocal cast.
~Huge licensed soundtrack with exclusive tracks.
~Classic Rush jumps and shortcuts - and speed.
~Licensed vehicles with full damage modeling.
~Mini-games and modes offer replayability.
~Two-player split-screen, possibly online.

The streets of this game are great as well. They don't look wet 24/7 like some of SA's. Mods are available, but won't be what Rush is about. Don't start associating this game with the tuner racing scene. 1st off, this is pure arcade racing, nothing else. And yes, there are police. And they are out to render your performance.
The streets of this game are more packed and more realistic than True Crime and SA put together.

In addition, there are some special cars tuned West Coast Customs and Rides Magazine for your driving pleasure. Plus, some classic SF cars are in as well. Nice.

Got lost in the city? No problem. There is a GPS system to help you out.
Some of the celebrity voices in the game are
~Bill Bellamy
~Mr. 7-Up himself
~Orlando Jones
~The West Coast Customs crew
~Rap superstar Twista.
Twista and Lil' Kim have also put together some custom songs for this game. But its not all rap. There is a gigantic list of rock, rap, and electronica tracks for you to choose.

Car List:
So far this is what I've seen from screenshots.
~Saleen S7
~Dodge Viper SRT-10
~Chrysler 300C
~Lotus Elise
~What looks like a Yenko Camaro. Not sure but a good looking old Camaro.
~Cadillac Escalade
~Dodge Ram Rumblebee
~Cheverolet Chevelle
~Mercury Cougar (old model)
~Police Impalas.

This game is no GTA, or NFS. In fact, its a gigantic mix of...
Driver 1+NFS Hot Pursuit 2+True Crime+GTA+Burnout+Lowrider+Rush series.

Sounds good.

Stay tuned for more info.

Well, it's been released now...L.A. Rush is a mix between Midnight Club, Burnout, and a rotten fish.

The physics are iffy (an unsuccessful stab at realism in what is most definitely an arcade-style game), the graphics are impressive in some ways and disappointing in others, the music is nothing really special, the "customization" is automatic, the car list is uninspired, the spectacular, slo-mo crashes get old REALLY FAST, and overall the game is unpolished.

L.A. Rush is a poor attempt at cashing in on the "street racing" genre, and an embarrassment to the Rush series.

When I heard about this game, I was excited, expecting a fresh, updated version of Rush, with shiny graphics, Burnout-like driving physics, and lots of crazy jumps, shortcuts, and acrobatics. Instead I got a ****ty Midnight Club wannabe. For shame, Midway...for shame... :grumpy:

This game is just one big advertisement for MTV.

Go pick up the original Rush titles on N64.

Better yet, save yourself a few bucks and just pick up Rush 2...if I recall correctly, the only thing Rush has, that 2 doesn't have, is the original tracks...Rush 2 is just Rush 1 with more cars, customization, new & more varied tracks, etc. Also, Rush 2049 had its cool moments, but otherwise it's just your typical over-the-top, trying-too-hard-to-be-futuristic-and-"cool" racing game....

The stunt mode in Rush 2 is worth the (pawn shop) price alone!

or you could get Midway Arcade Treasures 3, and have 8 classic racing games, including 2 rush games.
