Welcome friends! I propose for the first setup challenges we shall take the Renault Laguna V6, drive it around Rome Nite (non-reversed) under full power. According to my notes, this car is front-drive yet has a tendency to oversteer. All sorts of oversteer can be encountered "mild, medium, or extra spicy" in this car.

Try it first totally stock, then try it with
Full power
Full-custom suspension, brakes, and limited slip.
Stock (normal tires) and then equip it with the tire of your choice.
Any transmission of your choice.
and finally NO WEIGHT REDUCTIONS.

This will get the feel of how heavy this car is. What can you do to tame this?

And as a final bonus, do a time trial with full-modified kit with downforce & sponsorship.

If you guys wanna get all freaky about lap times, be my guest...:)

As i remember, the car wants to oversteer, but i found it pretty tamable even when stock. I'll set the tone off. Did 4 laps

Best time: 2:03.150

Next i loaded the car up. With normal tires, but everything else installed except limited slip, and all the suspension settings on default, i managed 1:50.304.

Wasn't really happy with the car at all. It powered out of corners okay, if i managed to nail them in & out...but otherwise, there was plenty of understeer just waiting for me with the smallest of mistakes. And the tail kept swinging out, so i got the settings below to cure all this. Finally i added the slick tires and a differential to cure what seemed to be a bit of unsureness when exiting those tighter corners (the Laguna was sometimes confused between too much grip {grabbing} and seemed to be saying "Hey i thought you wanted me to stay glued to the road".

Yeah, but i didn't want you heading towards the inside wall!

Device````Front // Rear
Springs: 10.6 // ``8.4
Ride: 115 // 128 mm
B. Damps: 5/4
R. Damps: 4/5
Camber: 2.8° / 3.3°
Toe: None
Stabl: 3/4

BRAXE: 15/20

Transmission: close with Twin clutch and racing flywheel
Tires: Super Soft all around.
LSD: 16/21/13

My absolute best time after 10 laps: 1:40.950. This can be imporoed upon; i made a couple mistakes that were minor. Most of my driving was pretty good...this is no Integra, but it is still a pretty worthy front-drive.

I am a bit confuse with how this car accept my tuning, so I will tune this car slowly :). This car sure feel heavy, the body roll so much in corner. The car body is not too boring to look from behind. The engine noise is good even when stock, infact I like the stock muffler better than the racing one.

Although it roll much, I find it easy to drive. I can do around 2'02.xxx stock at the first lap of time trial (from many 1 lap test :p). Since the main problem is rolling, I think of using spring rate or stabilizer. But with when the roll is reduced, the car start showing rear swing even though it still understeer on fast corner. when taking this car to small and big circular track (B-4 and B-5 track) I can only make the car handle like stock with some very extreme tuning . Back to zero I guess, I have to think a way to make it not roll but still handle as good as stock.

Well, here is a car I have never tried. I am on family vacation next week and debating whether or not to take a game system. It is always a difficult balance for me. I want to spend time with the family, yet when everyone goes to bed it is nice to wind down. Hopefully, I will get a chance to tune this car. I still haven't unlocked rome night. How do you unlock it?

get S license after beating world championship.

I curently experimenting with negative rear toe for this car, it seem to reduce rear swing and also help turning at high speed corner.

This is my current setting:

Renault Laguna V6
normal tire, no weight mod, no aids, all other max
First lap laptime of Rome-Night time trial = 1'46.138
Suspension
-Spring Rate: 20.0 / 16.0
-Ride Height: 100 / 100
-Bound: 10 / 9
-Rebound: 9 / 8
-Camber: 0.0 / 0.0
-Toe: 0.00 / -0.05
-Stabilizers: 1 / 1

BBC: 1 / 12

Transmission:
move final drive to 2.500 then move auto setting to 8

LSD
-Initial: 1
-Acceleration: 6
-Deceleration: 6

I tried your car PB, it turn a lot better than mine. I get slower time when driving it because I keep making the car goes sideway (too much counter steer).

See, the Laguna V6 is car NOBODY ever tries! I imagine some folks over in Europe may get excited about it. It's one of those GT2 cars that has potential, yet gets ignored big time. When i was a kid, my dad had a Renault 10 sedan and a 12 wagon, and my mom eventually got a couple Peugeot 504s so French cars have a special place for me. My first car when i was 16 was a hand-me-down 504 which i drove into a tree 4 months later. :ouch:

You have to finish the World Cup, and then get all your licesnes up to S (or maybe it's IA, i forget), save your game, and Rome Nite will be on your arcade disc.

I use The Laguna, I have it with and without the Body Mod, One of my favorite touring cars! :-)
