Hello there :)

I have been away from GT5 for some time due to my studys and am now starting to get back in to it. Last time I played GT5 I don't recall there being a PP system.

So with this in mind i was wondering if you guys could answer the following questions for me:

  • What are the most common PP races?
  • What are the best cars in said PP ranges? (I know it will probably differ on driving style, etc. but I would like to have a good basis to work on)

Thanks,
wild

Most common PP races are: 450pp,475pp,500pp,550pp

for 400-500pp
Civics
Elises
Integras
Volvo C30
VW Golf R32
Mazda RX-8

for 500-550pp
Honda NSX-Rs (very quick with a decent set up)
Lexus Lf-a
Bmw M3s (any kind)
GTR R35
any GTR skyline
Lotus elise race mod
Mazda RX-7 FD

ahh ok thanks, are there any common restrictions as well (eg. FR only, etc.)?

PP - perfomance points I'm not completely sure how it works but it seems to take power/weight ratio, aero efficiency or downforce.

For example, take a stock car and note its PP, remove some weight or add some power and the PP goes up. Add a wing and increase the downforce itll go up. You can make the PP less by doing the reverse - add weight in balast, limit engine power, reduce downforce (all in setup).

It does not refer to any drive layout as drive type is listed seperately and if you enter a race with drive type restrictions it will tell you both the PP limit and drive type limit.

Sorry I think you misunderstood, I know what PP means and does.

What my question in that other post meant was, are there any other common restrictions for online races (such as FR only, over 1500kg, under 200hp, certain country only, etc.)

Hey wildheart, in my experience, 400-600pp street/production races are the most common. Some rooms limit by HP or weight. There are usually a couple of NASCAR rooms going, Super GT, Shuffle races, along with any other type of arbitrary rules you can think of, like EVO vs WRX or Civics only, or classic musclecars, etc.

I only search with SRF disabled, so I'm not sure what goes on on the "other side" :D

Remember to hit triangle to refresh the list, there are usually many more rooms going that it first seems.
