Returning to GT5 tonight - tips please

Hi all,

I haven't played GT5 since earlier summer last year, but after completing a few other games, i've decided to dust off the steering and return to GT5 this evening.

I wasn't much better than average last time I played it, but had worked my way down so I just had the standard abs1 and the rest off. Is this still the kind of setup people generally have? I've read the odd post about handling/physics changing since I last played pre 1st dlc pack. I may have to add tcs or just start with abs1 but in a slow car.

Any other key points or tips I in need to be aware of without spending hours trawling throughout the forum?

turn it on now so you can download all the updates:)

Not that much has changed to be honest, I haven't had to change my style of driving throughout any updates. Might take you a while to get your lap times where you want them but that's natural with not playing it for a while.
 
Delete your cache
 
Definitley start downloading the updates as soon as possible!
If anything I think the actual driving physics have become slightly easier so you should be ok with your usual settings. Nothing wrong with ABS and TCS 1 though, enjoy :D
 
Online events will give you nice amounts of cash and also car tickets!
 
Log in daily, also on PSN to get a daily login bonus, after a few days all money and experience is doubled :-)
