Rev Counters in GT4?

I did a search but came up blank on this subject, unless I missed it!

Having only recently migrated from GT3 to GT4 I don't yet have any of the 'supercars' or the LM race cars. At the moment, I'm only on 20% completed, but have all the licenses, which seemed a lot easier to get than GT3 by the way!

So, here's my question!

In GT4, do the rev counters actually change when you get into a seriously powerful racecar, such as the Bentley Speed 8 for example? I mean, in GT3 the rev counter on the Toyota GT-One racecar only went to about 10k and redlined at 6-7k ish! Now, that's just plain wrong for these sorts of cars. Most of these superfast racecars can easily rev into the 15-18k range, but in GT3 they only went to 10k.

So, has it changed in GT4?

Yes the tachometer still changes from car to car. The old E-class Mercedes racecar goes up to 10k.

I don't think anything but the FGT can rev up to 18K, but I'm pretty sure the LMPs do have redlines over 10K at least.
Strangly, the Alfa touring car redlines at 12K, but the tach goes all the way to 20.

Yeah the original beetle redlines at a monstrous 4000rpm! YEAH B*TCH!

Toyota GT-One, Audi R8, Bentley Speed 8 et al could never rev up to 15-18k. In real life their rev limit is a lot lower.

i also noticed this just yesterday. i find it realy annoying in fact. Especially when your trying to monitor what rev's your doing, ( although it doesnt help that muh Tv's not ginormous) i find muhself regularly squinting at the screen ;_;. Or i could just drive another car.lol

I think PD pretty much have this aspect right :)

well it seems to me that the cars rev to aprox the right RPM.
Its not perfect but its really quite workable.... and remember you quoted me at saying "pretty much" :)

lol ok then.. i wasnt refering to whether they rev to the right amount, i was saying that usually when you get into a more higher reving car, the hud usually adjusts itself so it fits nicely, but with the alfa it almost half of the HUD is red because it doesnt rev that high, it just seemed like a waste of space to have all that area in which the cars engine cant rev to. It should have adjusted itself as well as all the other cars seem to do.
