Reverting to Original Colour Car

I have a RUF Yellow Bird but painted it a different colour, just because I can
Not too keen on the results though...

Does anybody know the exact shade of Yellow it was originally, so I can revert it back to it's former glory? I presume because I bought it from the UCD I will have the original colour paint token?

Has anybody else painted a car that originally came in one colour and regretted it? They should allow us to preview it properly first!

You can preview the color of a car by actually painting it first. If you don't like it, quit directly and you will not lose the paint chip and the car will retain the color it was before. It's pretty much the only way to try-before-you-buy.

Concerning the color of the Yellow Bird, I don't know which one it is.

Or go into options, and turn off the auto-save mode you can try before you buy, with just about ANYYYYYTHING then!

Are you sure? Cause it's the same thing people said about car tickets but the game saves as soon as you open the ticket, not when you exit the screen.

Could be, don't recall painting another car Yellow so can't of used it up. I have other shades of Yellow in my paint list but would prefer the exact shade as my OCD will kick in otherwise lol

Sometimes you dont get paint chip if you dont decide to drive the car rightaway when taking delivery.

Yeah I know... It just looks odd in anything other than Yellow. I have a colour called 'Sunburst Yellow' which looks okay. Slightly too orangey but the best I can do for now!

Confirmed. What you could do is wait for it in your UCD or get it from a charity trade.

It is. When looking at it at the used dealer, there is no listed color. I'm guessing you might be gifted the RUF yellow from your daily paint chips but not sure.

I don't think that's possible, because that yellow would have to be obtainable from the UCD purchase for it to be obtainable through paint login bonus.

I planned on painting my Yellowbird but haven't yet. We can trade cars so you can have one in the original color if you want.

How sure are you about that? I thought that every color from GT4 and GTPSP was carried into the game but the UCD doesn't sell most cars in more than 1 color.

How would it make sense for a paint chip-less car to be available without the paint chip, yet make it obtainable through login bonus? How many cars have you seen that happen with?

It's like being able to only buy a Ferrari in red, and only make every other Ferrari paint chip obtainable through login bonus.

There's your problem. You're using logic. This is GT5, using logic will get you in trouble.
I didn't say you can get the color, I said you might. Let's look at the FT-86, it comes in how many colors? And how many of those do you receive when you buy the car? It's just the RED, isn't it? All the others are gift only.

I've bought a few FT-86's for their flip paint, you do get it, but not when it's a prize car, only when you buy it, FT-86 flip paint is currently used on my Gallardo, California and 458.

What's even better, bounce them (FT-86's) to and from your other ID and you get an endless supply of that colour 👍

Some cars don't come with a paint clip, like mentioned above, if there's no name for the paint colour, you won't get a clip for it.

I've been gifted flip paint in the login bonus aswell, but also haven't received the alloted 1 special colour (matte / chrome) for every 30 cars. I got nearly 400 cars and only 7/8 matte's and 1 chrome, I've never used matte or chrome or ever gifted some of these to a friend.

But, there's also bugs in the game (not talking VW bugs (o\i/o)...) buy a Vauxhall Tigra for it's metallic green and even though the paint has a name, you don't get the colour. Typical GT5, total lack of consistency.

And lets not even start talking about the fiasco about stripes appearing and dissappearing on certain cars during a respray....
