Revised test track.....

This is something I've always looked out for in new GT installments but its never appeared....

How about a proper test track, like a disused airfield or something where you can really test the handling of the cars and muck about shredding some tyres. Maybe you could have cones laid out in a basic track or something.....I'm certain it would take hardly any time to produce and wouldnt use much PS2 power either.

Not asking much is it?

P.S. If there are any fellow Brits out there then I have in mind somewhere like the Top Gear track...

Having a seperate autocross option would be cool as well. But a full test track with an oval, skid pan, off road section and a twist road section would be nice.
 
It always struck me as odd that there were 'skidpan-like' sections in the GT3 license tests (where you ran the car around a circle), yet they were never available for testing purposes - unlike the main straight at the Test Course, where the standing start and top end tests were conducted.
 
How about a 5 x 5 mi square block of pure flat aspalt that you can customize it, to put the cones (for Autocross and Drifting), or you can go bonkers shreading your tires for burnout, or do a Bonneville-like max speed runs.
 
I always hauled ass all over Complex String, i love that cource for
drifting.
 
I already suggested that since GT3. but nice try.
 
Actually, thee best thing would be if the Complex String would have some kind of exit to an classic oval Test Track from GT3, or - if the dimensions are ok (I should check it), to be "fitted" inside the Test Track area.

For me the Complex is the best Test Track ever made in a game, and it should never be replaced, maybe just modified a bit with few new track configurations.
 
Nah, the original Special Stage R11 from GT1 is the tops, Second will be Grand Valley Speedway, and Third was the HIgh Speed Ring from GT1 and GT2.
 
PGR2 has the best test track so far...

nice straight, good high-speed turns etc and nice scenery - hopefully they will match/go one step better in GT4.

PGR2's Test Track screams "High Speed Ring" all over:).

But falling leaves are nice touch tough.
 
That's a good idea I would love that so I could just test out my cars and stuff instead of using the test corse and the complex string
 
Hey! I forgot that the High Speed Ring was one of the best track to Drift at. Too bad It wasn't on GT3. But I'm hoping that it will be in GT4.
 
Test track in TOCA 2 was pretty cool if I remember. With an off-road section too I think?

Yep, thats what I thought of with my post, that had a couple of track configurations, an off road section and a large banked oval.
 
i think in TOCA they go to an oval once a year, but in the middle is small track of chicanes and tight hair pins that they are led into. Don't they also have this at indianapolis for the F1?
 
What Rockingham? Isn't the inner bit called Rockingham Street track or something. Indianapolis doesn't have such a tight infield bit.

Yep, They built a whole new track in the infield for Formula One at Indy.

Lots of Ovals have a road course in the infield. Indy, Daytona, Las Vegas just to name a few have road courses built into the infield. And doesnt Indianapolis have part of a golf course in the infield?
 
i just always used complex string instead of test course to test my cars.:D
